Might be a built in ear saver... My Sony reduces volume after a time and prompts me with a message about volume safety. Thankfully you can switch off in sound prefs.

Would be interested to hear what you think of DayDream if you use it.

Bought another Z3 Compact, since my current Z3 Compact is performing mediocre batterywise after almost 2 years of daily use.
- and since there are no other small ANT+ capable phones out there.

A relative is looking for a phablet as theirs is on the way out.
Price is a major factor. Anyone know of what the best £150 (or less) option would be? Maybe an older refurbed one?
Cheers.

The xiaomi note 4 has had good reviews. I've not tried one but they're on the shortlist for when my current phone needs replacing. I think someone on here said they'd got one recently.

Cheers. I'll take a look.
Otherwise I guess a nexus 6,if there's a refurb somewhere.

Huh, mine did that too, although I always just assumed it was down to a set of earphones failing - had never noticed the volume slider going down. No fix I'm afraid, but have you tried a different pair of headphones?
Edit: in the same way, i.e. had been fine, and then started doing it nearly all the time -

Dropped my 5x today, picked it up and was relieved to see the screen hadn't cracked... Tried the fingerprint scanner, nothing... Power button, nothing... It's a brick...
It got very hot for a while, so hot I didn't want it in my pocket... Still dead, back on my cracked N5...
Bollocks... 😑

Looks excellent. Also not too crazily priced.

I can't find prices on the 2017 version

5x has no drop tolerance. Broke mine twice and I'm pretty careful. It's not too complex to repair or take apart if you want to try.
-
• #18168
How did you fix it? What breaks when it drops?
-
• #18169
Step by step teardown if you decide to try fix it yourself

Update on the Redmi Note 4? Still no complaints?

Motherboard on N5x has died, it's a brick... Worst... Phone... Ever...
Cheap, powerful replacement? Tho' my mate works at one of the biggest phone retailers in Oz and I can get a big discount... What should I get? Will get a Pixel if it's less than AU$500...

Still no complaints.
@stevo_com (I think?) asked about wifi. It seems to be stronger than my old phone. Keeps a connection from the router at teh front of the house when I'm at the back now. Not sure if that's helpful, as to really know if that's any good you'd need to know how good my old phone was...
There's been talk of a new one coming out, btw. So maybe worth waiting? Redmi Note 5 and 4X or something?

Is there some kind of simulator for Android OS i can run on a computer that's relatively idiot proof?
I need to screen record some video from an android device (and iOS) of an app working to create an app preview and no one i know has an android.
location also needs to be from an oxford street address rather than here in Brighton so something that could help on that front would be magic. I've downloaded Xcode for the iOS version but not yet played around. Am also looking at jailbreaking iPhone but not sure if that'll work so it might be a trip up to london. Wondering if it'll be buying or borrowing an android as well or if I can do something on a computer.
Anyone else got an LG G4?
Got mine in the December 2015 Vodafone offer for £220-ish.
Has worked flawlessly so far until about a week ago,
when it started reducing the volume through wired in-ear headphones.
Tend to listen to podcasts when riding, with just the left earphone, to ensure I am still engaged with the surroundings, never at full volume, to avoid the auto nag onscreen message.
Last few days after about 35 minutes the volume just reduces, first one step down them down to zero. I can stop, retrieve the G4 from the belt case, open the Circle Case, reset the volume to where it should be, and just watch in amazement as the volume slider reduces in realtime down to zero.
I use Antennapod as my podcast app of choice, but have the identical problem after the 35-ish minutes if trying to use the default 'Music' app.
Power cycling is no remedy.
Have I inadvertantly selected an option I was previously unaware of?
Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.
