  • I made ginger simple syrup then made a Woodford Reserve old fashioned. Well good. Merry fucking Christmas.

  • I've gone a little bit off-piste but this is lovely. It's a bramble (blackberry) liquer with whisky and honey.

It's great just with ice and now I'm having it with ice, a slice of lemon and tonic.

  • Love the print behind - so much that.

  • Thanks! That was a birthday present from my lovely partner.

  • Whisky stones and the Malt whisky yearbook. Get in! Merry Christmas whiskateers!

  • It's a whisky Christmas so far. Looking forward to trying these glasses out vs the Glencairn

  • Got this from the GF, am going to drink a couple very soon, so I can figure out which one tickles my Ickles, as there's the possibility I'll be in Japan in the new year and I can bring back a couple of big people bottles.
Probably will be the Coffey grain whiskey and two others as I tried it in black rock and liked it immensely..

  • Amazon have just delivered a bottle of Knob Creek.

Anyone tried it? Might wait to NYE to open it as i have a bottle of Woodford to keep me going until then.

  • I tried the 9y aged knob creek a few days ago ... was ok, quite 'oaky' and not as sweet as other bourbons ... but still a good one

  • That's the one.

Not as sweet is good for me; my taste is somewhere between Scotch and Bourbon on sweetness.

I liked the Bulleit rye, was going to go for the Knob Creek rye but £50...

  • Decided not to wait until NYE...

Just had a little taster. It's pretty good. Bit of smoke, bit of sweetness. Nice without being particularly exceptional.

    Would drink again.

    Would pay £34.99 again? No.

  • I think it's great! Get in.

  • In Edinburgh, it's my birthday tomorrow so Simon just took me to Cadenhead whiskey shop. They bottle whiskey from the cask, picked up a Longrow.

  • Longrow? Strong call. HB and all that.

  • Picked up a Lagavulin to see in the New Year with.

  • ^ that'll do it just fine

  • Well this is the best christmas haul yet. 3 are new one isn't. All will be enjoyed.

  • I can tell you from L-R

Great - picked one up from Narita
Only tried once at a whisky bar -gentle, toffees. Nice & smooth.
Awesome - bright, orange on the nose, citrus even apple in taste.
Laphroaig, I'm sure you know plenty about that one.

    Great haul!

  • *now just chuck that 1 cal olive oil spray ;)

  • That oil spray is offensive to me but my wife insists on using it. She even throws a wobbly when i make her tea with my full fat (and a mean proper full fat none of this nonsense supermarket full fat milk) milk. She prefers here soya milk.

I thought the hibiki had notes or a lovely bourbon can't place the flavours but uhmmmmmm.
