Nope. One is leaking, the other isn't. They were very keen on all four tyres being changed at the same time, for the usual reason on a 4WD car.
-
• #31629
Oh, the total bill will be well over 2k. The tyres alone are over 1k.

£17,834.54

Fair enough. Assuming this is the end (or near the end...) of the big expenses, that's still a lot of car for the money.
... assuming....

Assuming this is the end
Bold assumption. Source: Porsche owner in family.

• #31633
Although to be fair, the porsche in question is a fair bit older than Dammit's.

If I sell and add another 10k to the sales price each year what are the logical vehicles to purchase until I end up in a GT3? 996.1, naturally.
-
• #31636
That sort of thing.
I was thinking possibly along these lines:
Current 996, sell for £15,000+10k= 996 C4S
996 C4S+probably more like 20k=996 turbo
996 turbo+20k=996 GT3Looking at it my +figure is too high, I need either some intermediate steps, or to keep the cars for two years each. Keeping them for two years is probably easier.

This of course is based on the GT3 not being worth 120k in a few years, but staying around the 60k mark. This may be an unsound assumption.

• #31638
for the usual reason
Profit?
-
• #31639
The prices of average examples are softening. Exceptional and low mileage ones aren't tho.
-
• #31640
I'm happy with average, it'd be a car to drive rather than a car to leave in the garage as an investment.
-
• #31641
Stick with your plan. A 996 GT3 comfort is a £45k car, not £60k. They'll get there again in the next couple of years.
If I will it to be true, it will be true.
I want Exiges to be £20k again. Or an R8 for £30k. Come on Brexit, make it so.

I've been test driving some DB9s today.
This one was the nicest.

Did you wear your red trousers or are you saving those for the negotiation?
-
• #31644
Brown Trousers for the service?
-
• #31645
Awesome!
Please get one with a sensible interior (if you can find one...)

• #31646
The only colour I'm seeing here is green.
(I mean the car's paintwork obviously)
-
• #31647
One of the chaps at work has one, in that pale green - it makes a great noise, boot lid keeps hitting him in the head though as the gas struts are borked, and are £250 for the Aston replacements.
-
• #31648
Is £250 that much of a big deal if he could afford an Aston?
-
• #31649
Yeah, it's not like it's £7,000 or anything.

Is £250 that much of a big deal if he could afford an Aston?
I don't really know - I do know I still have to hold the boot open whilst he gets his laptop out, so something's stopping him changing them. £500 in parts, plus the labour, plus the VAT - £720 all in?
Y u no spreadsheet!?
