Yes, planning on keeping the back brake for the time being.

Another disc-only rim, and therefore also totally unsuitable for @ChasnotRobert. Next?

As a cheap option, Sturmney archer make a 130 track hub with sealed bearings that can be spaced to 135 - the axle is plenty long enough - i'm doing this on my cotic

I will probably be selling mine. They're brand new pretty much.
-
• #7359
Hey, I'm in no position to criticise anyone buying nice stuff just because. Enjoy.

fair, you are/were right though, will report back if I live in the alps, might even take the stingers just dont want to crash in a nodder pile up.
-
• #7362
I called HED they said they have same rim across the range so just went with the cheapest.
-
• #7363
You got through to someone at HED UK ?!
LIES!
-
• #7364

nah just the standard braking surface, these: http://www.hedwheels.com/proddetail.asp?prod=ARDPLUSGP

Some of the early ones were recalled. Plus I just wanted a standard brake surface as I have to swap pads anyway when I use the stingers. And they are mad pricey. Does @6pt have them?
I considered jets so i could have clincher set up and kill 2 birds .. but the tub benefit really outweighs the fear of the puncture, I just carry a stretched pre-glued tub.

Nice wheels bro

Jets (Ardennes underneath)
ORLY?
-
• #7371
Yeah, Jets are just a carbon fairing glued onto their standard Belgium rims.
-
• #7372
I don't have them, but would be willing to long-term test a pair if anyone's feeling generous.
-
• #7373
Yeah I have a Jet 90, didn't realise they used the same rim. Fine mine v flexy, but then it is effectively an 18 spoke shallow wheel.
-
• #7374
aaaand they are shipped, they did mention on phone that they were supposed to go up £50 last week because of brexit even the product description says £549 ..

Steve @ Hed UK is a dude.
Always give him a ring if you're after anything HED as he'll sort you out with what you need over the phone quicker than it would take you to remeber your password for online offerings.
@ChasnotRobert use Rim brake.
