Why don't you comment on the page then. He seems quite open to suggestions/criticism

Seems like a good idea for alloy rims, I'd not want to aggressively abrade carbon rims.

Looking at it, it seemed to be set at a certain height that it doesn't scrap the rims surface.

I need a tub rim to stretch tubs on, cheap/free if possible. In London can collect.

A clean one?

not necessarily

I've got a pair of old rims here, they've been glued and, frankly, I can't be arsed cleaning them, and you're welcome to have them.

PM-ing you now.

It takes about 10 minutes to apply glue to a rim and tub. apply alot hang up over night then mount the next day. I assure you once inflated and you leave for a sort while that tub is not coming off easily. Where the hassle. People think gluing is more involed than it really is. My tubs dont roll but I do lay down alot of glue.

Mounted a 'cross tub with carogna tape last week. Easiest tyre job I've ever had to do and stayed on the rim on Sunday. If I get through a whole season with it then I'm never going back to glue. Can also recommend the glue remover they do, old mastik 1 + conti carbon mess came off in one nice strip.

This time I plan to let dry both rim and tyre glue after 2 coats on each and then mount and inflate. In theory they should be ready to ride as soon as I inflate no? Otherwise whats the point in carrying pre-glued tub?

You wouldn't want to corner hard until they've had time to bond. Preglued is for getting home.

I've used it on my cross tubs this year and no problems at all. Took less time to fit a tub than it did new tyres on my tubeless rims. Fantastic stuff

^This. However, if you take it easy for a while in hilly countryside (i.e. putting heat into the rims with the brakes) I find that by the time I get home the tyre is stuck fast.

You don't have to carry tape. You don't have to carefully tape the rim, mount the tyre, peel off the tape whilst moving an allen key around the rim over the de-taping process.

It is really the first glue tape I've ever seem that is really good in its use case.. It has taken over cross by storm...
If I get through a whole season with it then I'm never going back to glue.
For cyclecross I'm convinced it is a good choice but not for road or track-- if you don't get banned..

The glue remover is expensive but does perform exceptionally well.. It needs to since the tape only works on a pristine rim.. With mastic, by contrast, you DON'T ever want a pristine rim.. Like a good cast iron pan you need to season it.. The glue one removes is just the dried flaky stuff so its relatively easy..

Depends how much mud you've managed to get mixed into the glue...

yes I have ridden a tub just after mounting. I have never found a problem.

Tl;dr: Don't do it with latex inners as a preventative measure
Anyone tried this for roadside flats ?
