  • Yeah. I learnt my lesson and just don't go there now.

  • ah, shame, maybe next year then!

  • What's all this 3cm jazz? Is the rule going to be inforced?

I've not heard anything official from CTT. Via website or email.

  • What's all this 3cm jazz? Is the rule going to be inforced?

The regulation has been clarified at the AGM in accordance with the proposal from West DC. It has not been changed unless you think there was some alternative interpretation of the original text. Enforcement might be more likely, but it is still up to somebody to protest, although some people might be out there with their cameras looking for things to protest about. If you're not compliant at the moment, you should bring yourself into compliance as a matter of honour, regardless of whether you think you're likely to get caught.

  • I'm sure I'm compliant. Though why not just come into line with UCI rules I don't know. CTT really are pushing themselves into a corner.

Be nice if CTT were to make a publication on the website or email.

  • why not just come into line with UCI rules

If you want UCI rules, go ride UCI races. To implement them properly, you also need UCI jigs, UCI commissaires and UCI entry prices, not to mention a ban on many Tri frames, non-compliant tribars and triantelope steep seat angle positions. The UCI clarification guidance on their equipment regulations is longer than our entire set of articles, rules and regulations.

  • Be nice if CTT were to make a publication on the website

Now you're just being silly. You're probably the kind of whinger who thought it might have been a good idea for CTT to have prominently displayed the AGM agenda. Can't you see that advertising the grand January piss-up on which they will waste more than the annual anti-doping budget is a far more important thing to have on the front page?

  • I did ride a UCI race. I remember having my bike run through the jig and approved. I then returned a few hours later to race, apparenty in the interim their jig had changed size as my bike was now deemed to fail the same measurments.
So yes, maybe UCI rules are infact worse.

The CTT might need to set up a new commite to deal with the inundation of slightly seedy photographs of swetty humans in lycra proclaimed to be foul of the rule. I almost pity the person who will need to pour over the images bitter time trialist send in.

  • I'll be reporting @umop3pisdn obviously. Now just to get a photograph of him.
Where is my camo gear and long lens, I've a duel carridgeway bush to hide in.

  • Me, break the 3cm rule? That's unpossible.

Might race oldschool TT only next year.

  • Might race oldschool TT only next year

If you can face getting beaten by a man twice your age (no, not me, stewski)

  • Hmm, I'm not sure. Depends how his 20 minute power compares to his 5 minute.

  • Just seen there's a 25 course at the bottom of my road. H25/4.
Bit rolling but a fair course I think.
If anyone sees an event on there let me know, be rude not to.

Oo another one close too, H25/2 https://www.strava.com/segments/695193?hl=en-GB

I'll miss the E2/25 as my local.

  • not done H25/4 but I live basically on the course of H25/2 or as close as yud want to, and its a frustrating one, I've always got such an early start time that other than the ridiculous ski slope start, there's such little traffic on both the DC and SC section that it may as well all be on a quiet single carriageway!

maybe its just I'm bitter that I've ridden it three times this year, the first time it was a super slow day and did my best ever 25 power, the second time was a super fast day and I did my worst ever 25 power, and the third time have no excuses I just rode like a tool. @hippy loves the course....

  • ridiculous ski slope start

    @hippy loves the course

  • I'll give that one a punt then, I can ride to it easily.

I'm never going to beat my 25 PB now, so it's all fun from here.

  • If anyone sees an event on there let me know, be rude not to

Very rarely used for opens, but there are a few West London Combine events on the H25/4 and the H10/4 and H50/4 which use bits of the same road. You need to be a member of one of the score or so clubs affiliated to the combine.

  • Ah thanks. Probebrly won't be able to ride it then.
    Will just do the H25/2.

  • Probebrly won't be able to ride it then.

Second claim would proberbleye be OK. In theory, you can get a private time trial in a Combine event, but it's at the discretion of the event secretary and the easiest way to find out who that is is to be a member of an affiliated club and ask your TT Sec 😀

  • Willesden and Westerley and others run events on there.

I chased fast times for club recs this year so don't really bother with them. They made more sense when I'd ride out to events and ride home. Might head back to doing them for training.

  • Yeah, good tough training.

  • This whole 3cm rule has made me realise I'm possibly right on the edge of what's within the rules, but I don't really have the ability to move my arm pads back, so I suppose it suggests I should get on and buy the p3 I'm currently bidding for on ebay!

hopefully no one will report a mid pack chopper on Saturday!!

  • buy the p3 I'm currently bidding for on ebay

What's wrong with the felt? Just 3cm rule compliance?

  • I don't really have the ability to move my arm pads back

Because of body or because of bike?

I wouldn't worry about it if you're "right on the edge", everybody is going to pick the low hanging fruit first. If the measurement methodology stands up to appeals at 10cm, I suppose people might start to push it to see of they can DQ for 4cm.
