Gonna go with this on my pompetamine, thought about your fork ventures

@svendhöek thanks man, why the 26" instead of 28" version?
Still hoping for someone to make a light carbon disc fork with lowrider mounts and fender eyelets, though ;-)

a-to-c is 376mm instead of 390mm (basically road fork vs cx fork with 700c wheels)

(back on topic)Cool bike :)
-
• #281
haha no problem, and thanks!

What's the biggest tyre you can fit into this with guards?
-
• #283
The frame can take 28mm with guards
-
• #284
That is not enough...
-
• #285
I had fenders on with pretty fat 30mm challange :)
-
• #286
The frame can take 28mm with guards
i've got 32s and guards on with still loads of space
-
• #287
Could I get a picture plz

Yo!! Is that a v1 frame with the radical rear ?
-
• #291
Is that Paselas?
yup, don't buy them though, they're crap
Guards are the cheapest ones on SJS, M:part i think
-
• #292
v2 frame, the v1s are rim brakes
-
• #293
Paselas are crap? Ive done so many thousands of km on them and get maybe 2 punctures a year.
-
• #294
Mine has 32c with guards and some room, could maybe squeeze a 35c in too.
-
• #295
I've sliced open the sidewalls on 3 already and seem to get loads of P*nctures. Admittedly i ride this bike in a bit of a unsuitable way but i'm just not really a fan
-
• #296
Dats nice!
I want minimum 32c plus guards, disks and gears for my next commute/touring rig..
The SS charge plug is alright for what it is, but wouldn't mind disks on it, gears for when I've trained to hard and winter miles
-
• #297
Paselas are useless. The sidewalls are weak af. Toured 3 thousand miles on a pair and got about 3000 punctures.
-
• #298
Maybe im lucky then i've done well north of 10,000 km on them with minimal punctures.
-
• #299
Are you using gum walled ones?
-
• #300
Always have.
Maybe people are using too large a tyre on too narrow a rim so the side walls are coming into contact with the ground.
Your right (i have just measured mine again: 370/38mm) I must have measured something wrong first time.
@megl That means the cxc short fork won't help you. It gives the same trail as the kaffenback fork (but with 12mm shorter wheelbase + 1.2 degree steeper headangle). Buy it if you like the looks.
The disc trucker fork 26" will give 6mm shorter trail. It is 376mm axle-to-crown and 45mm rake and fits max 37mm high tires
