  • Which is massively delayed and now not stopping at Twickenham, instead it's running to Feltham and then we have to go back into London again.

  • Bollocks.

  • Good luck

We'll give your tardiness as a reason why the nuptials ought not proceed.

  • As long as you do it in song they can't complain.

  • As I established with stupid questions before, I have an Avid BB7 for MTB. I have a flat bar brake lever, but if I wanted to use with road bike drops, is there any option other than a new brake?

  • Travel Adaptor. That's the thing I'd forgotten the name of. Is that the best option?

  • Is that the best option?

For the cost of a TravelAgent, you could probably sell your MTB brake and buy a road one.

  • Do you need to punch people in the cock flap as well when referring a fixed wheel bicycle as "fixie" too?

  • Tektro rl520 levers? Should be available under a score.

Edit: yup £18 at CRC and Wiggle

  • Anyone run mini-v brakes with a small front rack and mudguards here? Thinking of switching my cantis for some CX9's and I'm not sure if there's space for the cable to pass through. The rack mounts to the canti bosses too, will that still work with CX9's? I assume they attach to the bosses in the same way as regular cantilevers.

  • Just what rack do you have? mini v should clear the mudguard but cannot comment on the front rack.

  • Velo Orange pass hunter. Hoping the cable can pass through the gap between the fork crown strut of the rack and the mudguard, will probably have to measure it but I wondered if anyone has first hand experience.

  • Okay, the mini v's cable likely to sit just above the mudguard (or the little rubber plug rubbing on the mudguard, but then if you have mudguard, you won't need that part), so in theory there's enough room between the rack mount and mudguard for the mini v.

It may be best to take it to a reputable LBS for them to see if it's possible with their mini v, and if it's not, no labour charge needed (least that what I do).

  • Some cunt tried to break into my flat last night. Reminded me I don't have contents insurance.

Who is good to go with, and will cover expensive bicycles while inside the flat? Will get specialist insurance if I plan to lock a nice bike outside ever.

Not John Lewis btw, daily mail boycott an that

EDIT: did my research, went with the Co Op.

  • Too late obvs but I went with Pedalcover on @hippy 's recommendation. Super helpful and a big fat pile of cover for even the ridiculous expensive bikes in and out the house.

  • Anyone know anything about hdd recorders? Ours is going to die soon so need another. Doesn't have to be flash, just something that will record and play at the same time and is easy to use. £200 ish at the most.

  • I'd be really appreciative if anyone had a Wiggle discount code?

  • are there any Los Angeles based forumgers? I've found a frame I want to buy over there but I need an intermediary...

  • I'm in San Diego until Friday...

  • Planning on doing hills next year - Hardnott Pass is first up, Peaks in May, Dragon ride in June.

Do I need a lower gear than 34/25?

I think the steepest I've been up with that gear is around 14% so I really have no idea what will happen when I attempt Hardnott. Fall off seems most likely...

  • Thank you but it's up in Anaheim so might be a bit far for you. Do let me know if it's not though

  • How would you describe your climbing abilities?

  • I've improved over the last year, from a reasonably poor stating point.

I can get up a cat 4 climb ok, but I've just not tried anything really challenging.

I did the Chilterns Classic earlier this year and got around; I've lost a couple of kg since then.

  • Yep - that's a bit of a ride. If the seller is keen to get rid and can bring it down...

  • Any reason why you wouldn't fit a 28? Some folks don't like the jumps in gears but that might be a price worth paying for a bail out gear.
