Sigma have some very good deals on Stages at the moment, if anyone is interested. Less than half RRP in some cases.

If there was only some way I could get this to play nice with my omnonnom crankset.
-
• #7959
I bet the one person in the world with an X9 crankset is like super happy about this

I believe you can move your cleats inward/outward ds/nds to match the 6mm surplus Q on NDS.

Not compatible with a SRAM S300 Courier chainset then?! (model below the Omnium).

It will bolt on but the Q factor might be different.

S300 Q-factor : 145 mm (GXP : PFGXP)
What's the Q for the Stages Rival? This document has two numbers (2x10 and 3x10).

S300-1 has 145mm Q-factor, Rival Q-factor depends on which version, but OCT = 147mm
-
• #7965
Right, I see that the Omniums are Q factor 134.7 mm which is quite a difference.
Is 2mm going to make any tangible difference?!
-
• #7966
I have a 180mm Rival crankset somewhere. Slightly tempted.

It's really only 1mm - your right foot will be staying where it is, your left one will move outwards 1mm. You probably have more asymmetry than that in your feet already.

You can also just use a pedal spacer to get that 1mm back
-
• #7969
So it's 6mm difference between omnium and rival. I bit too much for my liking. For the s300 just put an extra pedal washer on the drive side and it will be perfect.

SOLD.
Perfect timing, have a track bike mid build and had a spare S300 in the loft. Result. Thanks.
Interested to see how it compares to the powertap.

Anyone who understands these things: will the rival stages work with force 1x cranks?
-
• #7972
If they are both GXP then yes, yes they will.
-
• #7973
As above, if GXP then yes.
I've been trying to find out the Q factor of the Rival 1 also.Only 2 left in stock... buy now ask questions later :D
edit: this is the only reference I can find, it says the Q is 145 mm which is very close (147 mm)

Thanks, looks close enough to switch between (theoretical) setups. only 1.3 mm.
Speaking of buy now, questions later. Do Stages record forward motion only? Don't want to pick up braking forces.
Anyone know the name of the powermeter training book thats meant to be good for beginners? Or have a copy they no longer need? Thanks
