“What this means for you as a customer is that we can’t deliver your power meter, and we can’t provide a refund,”

I wonder how much they were being sold for.

Prices are on their website.

why would you expect a refund if you invest in the hope of a reward; by definition (plus clear terms and conditions) you only get something if they succeed, if they were in a position to go to market they'd just have bought a shop and a big bag to put all the money in from selling them.

Just wondering if they had other customers beyond backers. But yea, this.

wasn't aimed at you but there is a lot of chatter about the place saying they feel taken advantage of and cant believe they wont even get a refund.
I presume the kickstarter t&cs deal with the instance if the company fails and then magically restarts with a viable prduct or sells the IP onto a bigger brand and that then comes to market.

Okay - I'm going to take the plunge on a Power2Max Type S.
Couple of questions: is there any reason to go for the Rotor 3D+ cranks over the Standard 3D?
I'm probably going to stick with 50/34 as its fucking hilly where I live and 110 BCD means I can always go 52/36 if I decide I want to. Rotor NoQ chain rings decent or Praxis?

Depends on the bb you have on your bike. If you go for the 3D+ on a BSA bb then you'll have to use the Rotor BB30 to BSA bb, as the 3d+ has a 30 mm axle. The 3D gives you more BB options as it's a 24 mm axle.

I've had no issues with NoQ rings, but the Praxis are superior I think. Are p2m still doing amazing deals on Praxis rings? That would tip the balance if they are.

I have some 50/34 praxis for sell .. will come with bolts.

Just pulled the trigger on a type S, along with the NG prologue deal. Lovely stuff.

Condition? In the market for a very lightly used or new set.

May be doing some mountains next year, so would be useful. Will PM if it looks likely.
Hope you're well.

Thanks all.
I'm in Hong Kong where they don't seem to sell offer chainrings.
BB86 so seems like 3d is the way to go and I'll see where has the deal on praxis rings.
-
• #7943
Aha, if it's BB86 then the 3D+ won't fit. I learnt that lesson the hard way.
-
• #7944
Bb86 does fit but only with their 4130 bearings. I have a set in my giant tcx with a 3d+
The one bb standard it doesnt work with is treks bb90
-
• #7945
Ok. I had some weird OEM pair of Rotor 3dfs that wouldn't fit bb86. They were the anomaly, not the 3D+.
-
• #7946
Weird.
I would agree though - for bb86 the regular 3d (24mm axle) is better, as the bearings are bigger/last longer.
-
• #7947
Definitely BB86 not 386EVO or whatever?
Axle length ought to be be OK on the 3d+ but worth checking.
-
• #7948
Yup - 3d+ definitely works with bb86 if you use rotors 4130 bearings: https://www.bike24.com/p234356.html

Cheers, nobbles will be going on on Sunday for my first CX race of the season :)
(It's currently also running my p2max 3d+ crankset - althought that will come off for CX...)
