Just had a proper look at the checkpoints. What did Germany do to piss them off?

Slightly worried about @skinny. His most recent tweet (mid day yesterday) said he was still at home when most were already in Belgium. Of course plenty of time for him to have got there, did anyone spot him before the start?
EDIT. Ignore me I'm on my phone and have now found him on the tracker

Does anyone know how to get more than one tracker dot on a map? I don't want everyone but do want to have 4 at the same time without having 4 tabs.
You could do it on the RAAM...... it might be too many beers clouding my technical ability!

Riders well into the race now, and most seem to be following one of three popular routes.
So far as I can tell this is how our riders are getting on:
7 Emily Chappell 82km following the popular eastern (N2) route just south of Avense-sur-la-helpe
12 @Keiway#152 94km following the popular eastern (N2) route just south of Cappelle
60 @CarlosBI 79km following the more central route towards Guise
75 @skinny 102km following the popular eastern (N2) route in a bunch containing Josh Ibbotson (#1) and just behind the early leaders.
84 @Samuli 90km following the more central route towards Guise and seems to be very close to @CarlosBI
89 @bananaskid 84km Just behind @Samuli and @CarlosBI on the central route
114 @TheAdventureCapitalist Alive and well on twitter but tracker doesn't seem to be reporting
142 @hippy 91km following the most western of the popular routes, but leading that group of riders. I think @hippy has picked a route to avoid climbing with only about 700m so far compared to @skinny s 1000m
155 @frank9755 83km following @hippy s route and just coming up to CambresisEarly leaders appear to be Kristof_Allegaert, Matthijs_Ligt and Geoffroy_Dussault (who seems to ride for Canadian UCI team Garneau–Québecor)

Bloody hell, Passo di Giau and Durmitor...
Anyone planning on taking a shortcut through Bosnia? Let me know, I'm here to help.

Brilliant update thanks. Currently watching dots from Borneo so connection is not great and updates such as this are really appreciated!

Not a bad place to be :-) Selamat pagi.

Possibly should be just enjoying Borneo but I still need transcontinental updates!

BTW we're nearly 5 hours in and Geoffroy Dussault has a moving average speed of 37.9km/h!!!
Compare that to the very creditable (but slightly more realistic speeds) of @skinny 32.8km/h and @hippy 28.8km/h
@WornCleat maybe that answers your question about how pros would fare... I wonder how long he can keep it up for.

The questions will be how a pro manages without the support he is used to and whether his speed and endurance require rest and recovery.
If last night is anything to go by, it looks as though this will be more of a race with a number of contenders.
Sadly I can't see that Davis Coulon #131 started.

Hippy's route has hit unrideable sand.
Just chatted to yer man @hippy at the start. Excited to watch how the race unfolds after seeing all the racers today.
