I sincerely hope so.

Second hand's not a bad shout for fancy-pants things. Though a bit trickier to track down.

Ha, just reading this, my requirements for sofa were dark leather so I could wipe off food and beer and reclining so I could put my feet up. DFS's finest (well, the one I could afford) electric reclining sofa still looks pretty much like new 6 years on.

Paul at ABF flooring is excellent. Maybe send him an email to request a quote. They are very good value for the work they do, and they use the best sanders in the industry.

I want a TV cabinet sideboard thing that isn't fucking expensive or looks fucking shit.
-
• #15212
Had tv perched on a cheap little tv table for ages, in front of a bookcase. Moved tv onto bookcase, looks surprisingly good. I mostly dislike "media walls" but this is fine. Cheap cheap pine bookshelf with adjustable shelves, ladder sides and no back, you know the sort. Also holds DVDs, records, novels etc. I have pretty cheap tastes though.

We got loads of stuff from swooneditions.com but the prices have gone up quite a bit recently and all the offers vanished.

True. But
Also their lead times are mental - we ordered the seat in February and it came last Thursday
Gives you plenty of time to look :)

Is there someone on here who makes furniture?

OK @BQ @Tenderloin @andyp @T-V @aggi I believe you were all in on the moth chat on this thread.
Pls halp, I just need re-assurance that what I'm doing is the right thing.
Here's the run down. Cupboard in spare room has all my formal clothes, suits, nice shirts, smart jackets, new suit for wedding and new asian suit for wedding day 2
It also has a few boxes full of old paperwork, some of my other half's old clothes, and random storage shit. It also has a bunch of winter stuff on a shelf at the very top - jumpers and coats that my friend/lodger has stored up there - I am assuming they are the source.
I opened the cupboard on Tuesday to pick a suit for a wedding I was going to, opened up the suit bag to find a hole in the crotch of the trousers and some silky remnants around the area.
I have not seen moths nor any cocoons or larvae, but I understand holes plus silky strands = moths. No other clothes have been affected - out of my clothes - I haven't touched the woollen stuff at the very top, nor the boxes of paper or other half's old clothes on the floor so don't know if they're affected, I don't really care if they are.
That one suit bag was zipped up but I'm assuming that means fuck all as it's not airtight.
I have put all the shirts in a hot wash and hung them up to dry in a different room. I have just thrown the affected suit away and taken 2 other suits to the dry cleaners. My wedding suit is very new and has only been in that cupboard for maybe 2 weeks, as has wedding day 2 Asian suit. I've taken a risk that since they've been in there for a very short period of time, and I haven't seen any activity, I have transferred them to brand new suit bags and moved them into a different part of the flat. I have thrown away some of my older trousers and a jacket I wasn't really wearing. The original suit bags for the new suits I have put in the freezer to make sure if there's anything going on in there I can kill it off now. I have also hung up "moth repellent strips" in that cupboard - no idea if these are effective at all.
Tonight I am clearing that cupboard out, hoovering everywhere in that cupboard and room, and laying down insecticide powder on the skirting board and edges of the carpet.
I have the smoke bombs @BQ recommended on their way - enough for multiple applications in each room in the flat, also a carpet and clothes spray, and finally those wooden things to hang up and put in drawers too. I am also buying the sticky strips too in case there is actually a load of moths and they are just hiding and I can't see them.
What else can I do, or should I do??

Apologies for the very long post screwing up your following feed.

Also, if new suits have been affected, there's only 4 weeks to the wedding, so hopefully I can wear them the first time without anything happening. I've read suggestion of hanging them up in a car in direct sunlight as it can get hot enough to kill any eggs. I just don't want to risk dry cleaning 2 brand new suits that are currently perfect. Especially the Asian one as it's velvet and has a lot of beading work.

We've had moths recently. We cleaned throughly, threw out some clutter, set off a bug bomb and went out for the weekend.
All gone initially, now we're seeing a few moths here and there. Time for a second application I think. It worked well though.

Freeze the new suits too! Don't risk them having eggs in them now that will eat the crotch the day before the wedding.
We tried lots of things, including hiring an industrial freezer for a week and doing the whole wardrobe. They kept coming back. We suspect they came through the floorboards from our lovely but not very cleanly neighbour's flat below.
Moth strips are only good as an indicator of how many of them are still around.
In the end, nothing was more effective than getting the exterminators in.

• #15223
@NurseHolliday Did you check the box of old paperwork for eggs?
-
• #15224
I can't fit them in the freezer. Our freezer is tiny, even if I empty out everything in it.
Also, did exterminators actually get rid?
I don't mind paying if it's going to actually fix the problem.

I haven't touched that or the woollen stuff yet, I didn't want to risk disturbing anything and covering clothes with eggs/larvae unnecessarily.
I've spent a lot of time sitting in Ligne Roset - showroom and Heals, etc.
Comfort is what they do.
