it would be BAD if somebody copied and re-uploaded that video and allowed comments and a subsequent discussion on its merits.

I'm sure this will go nowhere but felt compelled to report it anyway. Needlessly aggressive driving from the driver of an empty bus. Seemed particularly to target cyclists. I received a close pass with him coming in way before he was clear of me - had to brake and bang on side of bus. Perhaps they should extend their assessments beyond technical to include character/personality assessments.
Thanks for your further email of 18 July about dangerous driving of a driver on a route number 35. I'm sorry for any distress that a
driver caused you at A23 Brixton road.I’m sorry that the driver was driving aggressively with excessive
speed. I can appreciate how upsetting it must have been for you.Dangerous driving or driving without due care is simply unacceptable.
I’ve passed your comments to Go Ahead, the bus operating company that
runs this route for us. They’ll now investigate your complaint. When a
complaint like this is made, a manager will call the driver in for an
interview. After this, based on the findings, appropriate action will
be taken. I can assure you that all complaints are taken very
seriously and they have taken the action they deem necessary against
the driver. The safety of our customers and road users is our highest priority. We
go to great lengths to train our bus drivers to very high standards. We continue to monitor driving performance, to ensure that high
standards are maintained. Every month we carry out over 600 Driver
Quality Monitoring surveys. This provides us with technical
assessments of their driving skills. Drivers are assessed on
acceleration and braking, as well as the use of mirrors and road
positioning.Once again, I'm very sorry to hear what happened and understand this
must have been upsetting for you. It's really important for us to meet
and exceed our customers' expectations. This means your feedback will
help us improve our services. Thanks again for contacting us. If there's anything else we can assist
you with, please reply to this email and we'll be happy to help.

I wonder whether there are strict target times or similar for out of service busses. They seem to drive a lot worse than regular busses.
-
• #6880
The opposite, they can finally go as fast as they like. Running early as a bus driver is a major no-no.

Just roadsafed a guy who was driving while playing pokemon go through the residential streets of Forest Hill. For some reason the phone in his right hand was preventing him from steering safely as he passed me, and from using his indicator on any of the five turns I saw him take. Made my blood boil. It's boiling again now as I remember it. Maybe next he'll go pikachu hunting in a field full of landmines.

Reminds me. Banged the rear quarter panel of a Smart Car in Richmond Park last Friday.
Driver reading/replying to texts whilst overtaking me and some tagnut drafting me just before/during the East Sheen roundabout.
Didn't get the reg no but she didn't stop. Looked properly startled though. Point made methinks.

Had an idiot in a van nearly run me over, then claimed it was my fault, made contact with my shoulder but a brush that didn't leave a mark, worth reporting? Some fruity language used - youtu.be/W97ZoFS4l-E

The next run in I have with a white van driver I'm going to report via 999 as if there is a full blown terrorist incident unfolding just to see if they have anymore interest in dealing with it.
obviously I'm not, but I'd like to.

report via 999
"Most worrying of all, officer, the driver was holding what appeared to be a handgun"
-
• #6887
Careful now, no need to get anyone shot... ;)

he made contact, report it, i am sure your back is now giving you agonising pains, so claim against him

Wouldn't bother with that, too much hassle plus don't want to give any money to injury claim lawyers, I would however love to see that idiot forced to cycle everywhere after losing his driving license.

Joke: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-36963826
At least for once the police and others are trying to do something about it. I thought over 100 mph was a much longer ban!

Only convicted of speeding, didn't bother with dangerous driving. Mostly a let off.
-
• #6892
it's so odd - how could driving at 154mph not be construed as dangerous...?
-
• #6893
Mr Passmore said he would also query whether severe cases of speeding should be charged as dangerous driving.
LOL, yeah good luck with that.
-
• #6894
Having said that, this suggest it should be really, really easy to get a conviction from dangerous driving.
Run a red light = dangerous driving, pity it's up to a jury of fellow motorists, who might have a different view.

Trucker tried to kill me by new cross gate. I was in regular eastbound lane as I was expecting the bus in the bus lane to stop any second. Trucker accelerated from a long way back, got alongside me then tried to push me left into the back of the now stationary bus. I called him a cunt, he got out, we shouted at each other a bit, then he got back in and drove off.
I have video (bar-mounted) and I've roadsafed him. Hopefully the police won't mind the swears. He was English but driving an Irish registered truck with no front plate and he drives like a cunt.

Cyclist goes ape after nearly being squashed.
Not sure I'd post this if I'd done the same: -
• #6897
^ Oh dear. No just take footage and give it to the police surely?
-
• #6898
10 seconds left - pedestrian has to jump off the pavement as there appears to be a cyclist not looking where he is going.....

I admire his persistence at least

Did the driver attack him with the truck door?
Share The Road put their film on Youtube.
In the comments I asked why Denby transport were allowed a segment to victim-blame cyclists for under-taking without even mentioning the banned/drunk/unlicensed HGV drivers who have killed. It looked to me like a road safety film had been subverted by an HGV company and turned into an advertisement that engaged in wild finger-pointing and ignored what was actually happening. I asked if this segment was connected with the acknowledged backers of the film including..Denby Transport.
So an HGV company either got a free advert in a road safety film or paid to slag off cyclists.
They deleted all comments and blocked any more.
