Did it buy a new bike? Two new bikes? More new bikes?

Extra revs then.
Bloody lycra loonies. Getting up at 4am to ride on a motorway! -

yep he is riding, and he's off conveniently 18 minutes after me, so maybe that should be my stretch target!
rutted lanes do not sound fun, you make it sound terrible but if people are averaging over 25mph on it, it cant be "that" bad!
or should I bring my road bike?!

Hah - nah its a great course! Just a proper challenge, you can't zone out, you need to concentrate fully.
TT bike is fine - I rode mine with 22mm tubs (although my TT extensions did slip...)
It's really just that one corner onto the lane where its a bit rutted and you need to carefully pick your line, the rest is actually pretty reasonable for British B roads, especially the first 4-5M where they have largely resurface it (It was pretty terrible in places last year)

In that case, I really need to do a fast 25 and go for a new 25 PB. 2x25m + 5 minutes would give me a 54:30 25, which I'd be pretty happy with. For now...

Try for the extra couple of seconds to get within 10 minutes of the Competition Record :-)

Had my entry rejected for the E2/25 in a couple of weeks (API Metrow). I guess my LTS is too slow, but is it normal to reject entries before the cutoff? I got an original acceptance email, then a rejection email last night.

Good point, worth a go. On the return leg of the E2/10, my Strava segment is within a minute of Alex Dowsett's KOM time. Different days, sadly, and it was a lot windier when I set that time.

Yes, if they already have a full field of people better qualified than you. The event secretary should send out rejection notices as soon as he knows you won't make the cut (Reg 26), so that you have time to enter an alternative event.

Yeah, I'll be there, will ride out from home.
-
• #13389
Where's home? Didn't you (motor)bike there last time?
-
• #13390
Bishops stortford.
Yeah, but I went riding in the morning before that one. Then the next 10 I rode out.
It's only 30 miles there and I need the volume.Riding out, doing 10/25, then riding longer way home makes for a decent day out training.

@mdcc_tester @Sainsburys_Ed - Good point. I was looking for another 25, but can't see anything suitable. Think I might go for the CC London 10 on the F20/10. Might as well mix it up as I'm doing the F11/10 this weekend.

• #13392
What's your 25 time?
-
• #13393
59.55 - it's annoying as it was my first ride after a crash, no form and my ribs were still pretty sore. Wanted to do myself justice this time round.
-
• #13394
Try middle markers event? Tehre was one on E2 a few weeks back.
I set my 25 time on the H88 course. Could try that.
-
• #13395
A different injury kept me out of that one! I'll have a look at the H88 as well, cheers.

Sorry h25/8 course codes aren't my best.

I was trying to work that one out! I found an h25/88 but no one is promoting on it this year.
Got family friends down that way who cycle so could be a good call. -

AFAIK, it's only used for club events (e.g. in a couple of weeks from today). Using the Chawton leg twice would make it slower than the H25/8, but not getting involved with the Farnham turn in an evening 25 is probably a good idea.

There is? I thought it was all DC?
I haven't even looked at the course yet. Bike isn't working yet. Legs aren't working. Arse.
Ah, yeah. Well, it's Essex isn't it? They should be used to that kind of thing. It's not the noise that's the issue, it's those bastard cyclists!
Actually, just leave your moto running - so long as they don't suspect cyclists are outside, all the white van men will be fine with it...
