  • Currently I am working on this one, I fall easily in love with bikes with the difference that I actually bought this one. The BB shell says 58 but it is a 56cm measured. C-C both the ST and TT. Originally I wanted to buy a modern carbon frame but firstly it would have been way more expensive and steel does have some advantages as well - less expensive, the classical elegant look and it is more flexible so it suffers less on our extremely shitty roads here in Slovakia.
Weight is a huge downside but I am not a weight weeinie fortunately (it will be 8.9KG +/-)
The bike is going to be equipped with a full modern 11s Campagnolo Chorus groupset, hopefully I will be able to finish the build next week
Other components: cinelli A1 stem, Nitto NAS106 bars, Nitto S83 seatpost, Prologo Screatch 2 Pas Nack saddle, Look Keo 2 Max pedals, etc. etc.
I do have a feeling that it will be quite a beast, haha.
    More pictures coming soon :)

  • Quite the beast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hella nice !

  • Sounds like a solid plan. Shouldn't the title be changed to ''neo-retro''?

  • Thats wicked, will be a good build. The colour of Ultegra would match nicely...

  • That fork crown is very beastly!

The seat stay bridge is nice too: compliments the crown.

  • I hear neo-retro builds are very in at the moment... need close-up shots of bb shell\chainstay 'juncture'. Oof

  • Yepp, corrected, thanks for bringing my attention to the typo

  • Whether they are "in" or not, I don't really care/know. I do not follow trends, I follow what I like. Honestly I could have equally bought a modern frame. But this one was available for a easonable price and since it is a rather rare and nice frame I did not hesitate. And I had the Prestige on my want list since I first saw it.
Regarding the details: there definitely will be some better photos in the near future ;)

  • this gonna be good

  • Slight tounge in cheek comment, I'm doing the same style of build at the moment. Look forward to seeing this develop.

  • Sure ;)
    What frameset and gruppo?
EDIT: ok, I actually took the effort and went through your posts and found out that you´re building a Moser Leader AX. Nice one!

  • Thanks very much.

  • Such an awesome frameset. Looking forward to the final build!

  • That's a purdy bike!

  • Oof nice frame

  • My favourite BB shell.

  • And whoever got this for 240$ is a lucky bastard...

  • Exactly. Especially with that paintjob. I bough mine for 320€ including shipping + the paintjob cost me another 150€ but I still think it was absolutely worth it. Once I came across with this frame on the internet selling for 900€...

  • Yepp, that BB shell is totally EPIC! not speaking of the fork crown and the hexagonal tubing!

  • UPDATE:
Yesterday the Nitto M106NAS bars finally arrived from Osaka after three weeks. An unusually long shipping time, items purchased from Japan usually arrive within 7-8 days.
Today the seatpost should arrive + the Chorus grouppo ditto.
Installing the handlebars was a terrible pain in the ass. Took me almost one hour. The diameter is 26mm, but the matching Cinelli A1 stem was quite stubborn. I had to remove the bolt and put a few coins there to stretch out the clamp a bit. The result: unfortunately the "M106NAS" logo is scratched a tiny bit but problem solved. The result is awesome, these bars are beautifully curved.

  • Love the bars, thinking about a set of these myself just the delivery time is putting me off. Out of interest how long is your stem?

  • You can try other shops (European included) and the bars will probably arrive sooner but they will be definitely more expensive at least by 20E. I found this on eBay and the price including shipping was 65-70EUR.
These are among the very few compact/shallow drop bars with 26mm diameter and I believe the most beautiful. Nitto is pure porn!
The Cinelli A1 stem is 130mm long. Maybe even a 120mm would have been sufficient...
Currently on my other Rossin with a 58cm C-C TT I am running a 130mm 3TTT Status but I have the impression that I am too stretched out.
This frame is shorter by 2cm so I thought by keeping the stem length I can reduce the reach by 2cm + the seat can be still moved forward a bit, though I do not want to make radical changes

  • Last pictures before the full build, I promise!

Please. I love these progress shots with test fittings of various components. My favourite part of bike building.
