  • Bufalo trace £20 at waitrose now

  • ^ standard price at Tesco et al

  • Just ordered a bottle of Rittenhouse 100 proof Straight Rye, as I've never tried it and it seems to get good reviews.

    Anyone tried it?

(Also jealous of recent Pappy Van Winkle spottings)

  • I've still got half a bottle of the 80 proof Rittenhouse Rye - its OK, but a bit meh - OK in cocktails - 100 is supposed to be loads tastier though

  • GF's dad staying at the moment (archaeologist from the Borders, currently living in Jordan) so lots of great stories and getting stuck into this:

It is sensational. Perfect smoky balance to my tastes...

  • I'm optimistic....will report back

  • Has anyone had a bottle of Few Bourbon? It was the only one on the shelves in M and S earlier when I was in there.

    Bought it for Old Fashioneds.

Having the first one now and it is intriguing. A very in your face, almost medicinal beginning blends to a bitter smokey middle and then a smooth vanilla and leather finish.

    I'm enjoying it, all told.

  • I have a bottle of Few Bourbon, gf bought me it for Xmas. It's not like any Bourbon I've tried before but I like it.

  • Enjoyed a wee dram of jefferson bourbon tonight. Also enjoying a bottle nikka and jura. Really need a bottle of llagavulin next.

  • Master of Malt just got a limited number of bottles of Pikesville 6 Year Old 110 Proof Straight Rye.

    £64.95. One bottle per customer.
    Looking forward to trying it!

  • Cooperative supermarket on southwalk park road is closing thus Saturday and selling off stock cheap. Picked these up for 11£ a bottle. Fiver for the glenfiddich taster packs

  • Holy shit what a haul, imma swing by tomorrow morning if it's not empty!

  • Amazing. I'm running low on Glenlivet and Talisker is always welcome in my home.

  • Best damn thing I ever tasted. That Jim Murray fella knows his shit.
Completely sold on Rye from now on.

  • oooh!

  • Thanks so much! I got the following for £26 all together (and a bottle of Tanqueray for martinis obvs). They were out of mini bottles though, sad emoticon.

  • Holy shit. Good hauls. I am now completely out of (decent) whisky. Tonight however I am meeting my old friend and neighbor at his work. He's the manager of this place> https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/shop/london/coventgarden
It's also payday. Woo, and indeed, hoo.

    Not smooth, but extremely satisfying.
    Will buy again.

  • I had a cracking bottle of Ardbeg as a gift when my daughter was born. I forget which one. Fancy another. What's the recommended one?
