Says 'Pro' so it must be good.

After a long hiatus (discovered drugs & women) I returned to mountain biking with a 26" Cotic Soul. For about a year after buying it I always had an inkling that I should have bought a FS instead. Got one, now I really miss riding the Soul. Such a great little bike. Getting mine built up as a SS as we speak. Can't wait.

Its a inbetweenie shock much like the fork. So should match the frame.
My roadie mate built a weight weenie FS XC. Just for some winter training. Hes now caught the bug. So i have someone to hit the trails with suddenly.
So want this built.

She's 5'10", the 17" Voodoo is a smidge too small, "17.5" Genesis is about right (80mm stem but sweep bars). Was looking at 18"/Medium frames
Seen an 18" Soul 853 frame on t'bay...

Was going to suggest a soul. I've ridden a pretty broad range of frames and the soul is the sweetest handling mtb I've ever had. Loads of fun.

What magic did he bestow on it to make it so awesome. Dark arts I bet.
Slackline is also excellent but I would say that

XT Di2 announced. (also 11 spd SLX)
Might actually upgrade my Tallboy LTC now. £350+ for a smashed XTR Di2 Mech has not appealed to me greatly. Should be a lot more affordable.
Edit: more info at Pinkbike incl. pricing - http://www.pinkbike.com/news/shimano-launches-new-11-speed-slx-groupset-and-xt-goes-di2.html

Good move to release it at the same time as 11spd SLX, as that's going to probably be their most popular mechanical group now.
Quite like the look of those cranks.

Stans Crest, Arch and Flow are all getting wider, without getting heavier. http://singletrackworld.com/2016/04/stans-wheels-wider-yet-cunningly-lighter/
New stuff from Salsa too...

They've done the polished and black the wrong way round on those. They wont look like that for long.
11-46 XT cassette should be nice, albeit with two alu cogs. DI2 still too pricey to bash off rocks for my wallet. Interested to see how much the SLX 11 speed cassette will cost/weigh.

Maybe Shimano have finally improved the durability of their crank finishes.

Wondered when that was going to happen.

Me too.
Want some 165 1x cranks.
Was going to go with race face cinch thingies. Bet these are better value.
$120 with ring.
Bargin.

xt is £76 without ring.
Not really sure theres any point looking past that. the Sram x1 cranks to match my groupset are a little more. Plus the BB options confuse me. I need pf BB 90.

The M8000? Are there many aftermarket rings with that bolt pattern yet?
-
• #8371
Just get M780 cranks cheap from someone who's worn out their chainrings.
-
• #8372
Ok, the oval ones are really hurting my eyes...
-
• #8373
Which is why I'm sticking with my standard 4 bolt pattern XT silver 10spd cranks!
-
• #8374
I don't even want 11 speed.....I'm just getting used to the extra gear on 10 speed!

I love oval Chainrings.
Reckon I'll just get the M8000 and those ABs. I kinda wanted some spiderless RaceFace turbines With a cinch AB ring. But only because I think spiderless looks cool.
I have Sram 1x gears. But the Sram cranks dont look as good bang for buck as the M8000.
Then I just need fork, shock, seatpost clamp, stem.
Should probably Upgrade my dropper at some point. But that can wait.
Still, think I'd sooner walk than start jamming lumps of timber into my frame O.o
