  • I've had a search for similar frames and there are a few around but not may so it is fairly rare. However this one has been converted from a road frame so not original.

Not really sure how much time/money I want to put into it yet. Nice paint job would be real nice but I'll have to see how much it'll cost.

  • nice paintjobs are a lot more than you might expect.

  • You are probably right. I wouldn't be surprised if I'd cost as much as the frame... Though considering the frame is raw, adding decent paint would increase it's value reasonably right?

  • i have no idea how much you paid for the frameset, but tbh spending upwards of £300 on a paintjob wont increase the value of it really

  • I think if I don't go overboard with the cost of the paint, I won't make a huge loss if I ever choose to sell. The frame came with a full set of decals costing over $100 so it would be a shame to waste them on a ratty can paint job. I'll get some quotes and make my decision

  • OSCA is going, I've just bought something else special to use on the track...

  • How much will the frame actually be worth (with or without fancy paintjob and decals). The fact its been converted would put most people off, no matter how professional it was done. I'd wager. Happy to be proven wrong though.

I'd get a cheap powder coat. Save the decals (or sell) and just ride it.

  • tease.

i wouldve wanted the osca if it wasnt a) so big, b) so mental

  • I have a feeling you are right, i think it'd be an easier decision if it was originally a track frame but the fact that it was converted makes it difficult.

If I did get it done properly, it wouldn't be until summer so it gives me time to mull it over. I was planning to just rattle can it something bright for now and just ride it.

  • A is why I'm selling and B is what makes it so good :~)

  • rattlecan fades!! Yellow, orange, white.

  • What about these rattle can fadez? I'm really feeling it

  • This is my Peugeot beater with rattle can fades.

  • Nice, was it easy to get the fades?

  • You can check out my Olmo Scatto build thread for some pink-purple fades inspiration, maybe:

    Great builds btw!

  • go for it. Will only cost £30 for three colours plus clear coat. Can't go wrong.

could also do it like the takhion you posted upthread and also look great.

  • Its easy, just hold the can further back

  • Sounds simple enough.

Best value spray paint to get? Can you get metallic spray paint?

  • depends on what finish you want? Halfords is prob best for metallics or chrome and black in bethnal green for colours, primers and finishes

  • You can often get spray paint in the poundshop. Usually only black or white but worth a look. Its not great obvs. But its still paint. Might just not last as long. But I'm guessing it won't look like a pro job anyway.

  • spend money on Montana Gold cans, graff writers like them for a reason.

  • Will it be alright on frames? They have a pretty extensive selection of colours

  • MTN 94, tough as nails and cheap

  • what about this stuff? http://spray.bike/
there was another CP that used it, can't remember which one, but came out pretty well in the pics!

  • Thanks, has changed abit since that picture. Changing colour in the next month once I've sorted the new forks.

As said already just spray from further away in a more quick movement. Practice on a piece of card first, until u feel confident enough. For paint I used a company called jawel paints (in Birmingham) and the paint is top quality stuff!
