Actually been discussing this with a friend today and we came to the same conclusion. I'm really shit at setting up gearing stuff so I think I'm going to take it to a bike shop and have them set it up properly and then go from there.
If I do want to change things up, first thing would be the wheels.

Just in case you do decide on a new set of 'cheap' wheels - look at campagnolo sciroccos before you buy a set of aksiums - I was extremely impressed with the weight and rigidity of mine, since they are a slightly deeper than usual alloy wheel and 35mm, I ran mine all autumn and winter and they still run silky smooth as if they're new!

The spokes really put me off those wheels to be honest. I prefer more traditionally lacing.
I've realised that I actually have a front silver aksium and a rear aksium on my rat build back home. I'll probably steal the aksium and marker the ksyrium black to make it match a bit better. Sorted! without spending a penny

In other news I've determined that I'm to scared to run the Juna disc with no lockring on the roads and don't really want to run a brake so I think I'm going to sell it. I'll probably stick my HED disc on and I have something cool for the front which is currently being sorted.
If anyone wants the disc shoot me a message

If there is enough thread to fit another cog, I think it will be fine if You glue them on. Obviously it's better to be on the safe side, I just really like the battered look.
-

There is a little bit of thread on one of the sides but I don't think enough for another cog. Gluing is an option.
I kind of had a night were I couldn't sleep and though about all the terrible things that could happen if the cog came loose...

have you thought about putting some high strength loctite on.
Would the glue not damage it? -

I know people have done it before but I'm not sure if I trust it. For me it would be one of those things that was constantly in the back of my mind while riding and would affect my confidence

I don't know... If i was running a brake I'd probably try it. I've been reading online and literally 95% of people say it's a terribly stupid idea

So recently I picked up this. The original plan was that I was going to take the fork for my other Tommasini, and @Miitch was going to take the frame but he realised that it was going to be too small. So I traded my half of the martrac for the frame.
I'm not sure which fork I'm going to use on it yet, I'm still waiting for my Faggin fork to come too so it will have a Columbus air one. I'll get the frame and forks painted, I'm thinking about a sparkly light metallic pink which I think will look amazing.
Parts wise I'm not sure yet, will probably be budget to begin with. I have a right side non fluted pista crank arm I want to use, with with a non matching one or I know I can buy the correct one from the vintage campag seller online for £90. Not sure if I want a classic or hhsb build yet.

Any recommendations would I should so to to get it painted? I'm happy to pay reasonably to get a good finish. I've really liked the stuff coming out of Cole Coatings

I think metallic lilac could be cool - this 753 Raleigh was painted by Mario Vaz for @DustyRumble...

I really like lilac and light pink as this

What's the lo pro count right now?
-
• #294
Lilac is nice too. Here's a thought, double sided 2 tone fade similar to Kalvinkas? Pink one side, purple the other?

what's the fourth?
Personally would have thought traditional fades of purple and pink would be better. I find the above pattern a bit too adventurous and confusing, having only just realised that below are the same bike.
Also I rekon I'd find the issue that one side will become you're favourite and that you'd wished that you got it all in that colour. -

I have the Bio Bike frame sitting around
Hmm you raise some valid points. I'm not sure how it would look in real life tbh, could be cool. Though I'm not sure if my budget would allow for mad fades. So far I'm leaning toward paint like the Nagasawa I posted. I think it would make a classy build

Oh yeah, the bio bike. That thing is cool.
That would be classy. Would metallic pink with rainbow flake be cheaper as just three flat colours including white?
Curvy lo pros always look good in fades. Recreating the infamous somec would also be a good way to go IMO.

is that frame anything special? Just rattle can it black i say

Bio bike will probably be sold when I get back. Likelyhood is I won't ride it so don't want to pour money into getting a seat post built etc. and not use it.
I'm assuming a single colour is much cheaper, I don't think metal flake costs that much more.
Fades are always nice
Before spending money on it I'd fix it up as best you can for free. True the wheels and fix the shifting first. Some new cables and bar tape would also go a long way without spending loads of money on new wheels and a groupset
