I did that in my first (and only) ride on the H25/2.

That's what radio pockets are for...

The other thing to watch out for on the H25/2 is turning a roundabout too soon on the A4. There are two about a mile apart - you need to carry on to the second one.
The Highways Authority no longer allows anyone other than approved contractors to put signs up on the A404, so don't rely on a sign telling you where to come off (there most likely will be a Marshall though).

I just used to use google maps to drive a course and then I'd know what the turns look like.
Distance notes on stem is a good idea if confusing course. Done similar for a few sporting courses. -

The cues are much more obvious at that end of the course, you just have to remember to turn just after the Pelican

Thank you that's a great idea. I'll pop on google maps too. I'm sure this is all pretty academic given the speeds I'll be going at - I could probably whip out an OS map!

Wasn't disagreeing with you! I was commenting more on my own impressions on the course not having ridden it, but looking at the profile unthought it would be super fast but then the fastest times on strava suggest it's pretty average, with no sub 50 times from some pretty fast guys!

times on strava
LOL
Eight riders under 50:00 in the National Championship last year without the benefit of the ski slope, Tops has done 48:47 on the normal version.

Well done! Wanna go under the hour this year.

Should've tried harder for 30mph, really. Lazy fucker.

a new club record
Tick that off the list: good work!
Did you hook-up with JP?

My little brother.

I didn't see anyone but some texts were exchanged and I think the missus met someone and handed over some covers.
Just need the 10, 50 and 100 now...

Given that it's 25.2 miles, you really needed to do 30.3mph

I look out for someone on TTF, bragging about being gifted some Raltechs from a complete stranger...
-
• #12246
It was quite windy and I was slowed at the turn so there's an 'easy' 30mph ride there if I bother chasing it.
I should've dremeled the derailler chainguide after all...
-
• #12247
That's fucken immense hippo.
Jolly well done.

50:02 for 5th place, a PB by over 5 minutes and a new club record.
Smashfest! Top work sir.
Mostly, but the onus is on the rider to know and follow the course. The only place where people go wrong* on the H25/2 is getting off the A404 either too early (Hurley/Henley slip) or too late (heading off down the A404M) on the way out. If you have some sort of computer, have the distance on the display and tape pace notes to your stem, it's très Pro, particularly at this time of the year
*unless they are a total fucking moron and go straight on at the turn roundabout, cough. In my defence, there was a version which turned at Woodley rather than Sonning.
