  • When I went in the other day it wasn't immediately apparent that the downstairs was open.

  • Yeah they need a sign.

Did a beer swap with a Belgian homebrewer last night, he gave me a 10 year old bottle of Chimay Blue.

  • I've got a 15 year old bottle of Chimay Blue in my house. Was never sure if it'd be drinkable anymore.

  • These things get better with age. We had a 10 year old Westmalle Tripel last year which was amazing.

  • Visited a few pubs last night & today.

Castleton - Ye Olde Nags Head (Thornbridge NZ Pale, forget name begins L)
Millers Dale - The Anglers Rest (Adnams - Southwold)
Earl Standingley - The Quiet Woman (Thwaites - Nutty Black)
Just arrived at Buxton Tap House, this is called BlueWolf, Black Sour aged in wine barrels. Will be trying the Extra Stout and then taking home a bottle of Yellow Belly.

Nice pub crawl, hard to get too pissed too.

  • Need that Blue Wolf

  • ^ was nice, different.

Realised train was a slow bus replacement so got bottle extra stout as well as yellow belly so I wouldn't be arriving home tomorrow. Now they're getting nicely shaken up on the A6.

  • Thornbridge SHAFF, not in any particularly adventurous setting however - unless it kicks off in chorlton the next few mins.
