Back from the regular vet. Two staples in a small cut on his thigh and some more pain meds and antibiotics. Very lucky cat.

Feel a bit sick just thinking about that. Glad he's doing ok.

Yup. Took nearly a month but they're inseparable now.

Very happy.

First 48h with Rhino have been real good, he seems pretty chilled. He is eating all the things and very sociable.

Now, we live in a ground floor garden flat. Just for now he is confined to the back room in daytimes, where he has some water, an old sofa to sit on and scratch, litter tray and a nice view if he sits on the table. In the evenings he gets the run of the flat.

The plan is for him to be an outdoor cat. He is about 7 years old and he used to be quite independent apparently and come and go via a catflap. How long should we wait until we let him out? Internet seems to say 2-3 weeks. He came from Mitcham, about 4 miles away.... obvs don't want him going back.

I would say 3-4 weeks.

Make sure the first time you let him out, it's before he's been fed so he's hungry!

Aye cheers Tim I think you're probably right, but blimey he's gonna be going mental.

And that's at least 20 more king size stools I have to deal with.

Terrible name but it's not incorrect. Completely removes odors and clumps around the poo / wee so that you only need to remove that bit (less wastage). Also, as it's made of corn husks, it's biodegradable and can be flushed.

Get a scoop with plenty of holes in it, carry the litter tray to the toilet, scoop bad bits into toilet. Flush.

So much easier.

Catface had a bit of a funny turn the other day. He was very lethargic & a bit vomity, reminded me of when he was when his diabetes was first diagnosed. Up till now I have managed to regulate with a super low carb diet (expensive & hours wasted calculating food constitution). My brother (also diabetic) gave me one of his old blood glucose testers, which I finally managed to use on the devil cat, his levels were super high! I don't think we had another donut incident...insulin given & the creature is almost back to normal. Eg, walk g me at 5am for breakfast.

On top of this, he has been pulling at his fur again. He has flea allergies but I treat him & the flat thoroughly, the fur pulling results in fur-vomits which is just gross. He seems happy otherwise but I'd rather he didn't have this bad habit, has anyone else had a cat pulling fur out solved by a feliway plug in?

RIP Bradley. I told you you stay away from that main road but then you were always a stubborn little bugger.

Huge chapeau to the random cyclist that made sure you made it to a 24/7 vet to give you a slim chance of making it and some pain relief. No thanks whatsoever to the motorist that hit him and drove off, leaving him in the road.

Your sister hasn't noticed yet and has eaten your food I'm afraid - plus ça change...
