Mine isn't Campag, but it is tubular. On the upside, it was free and unused, so I can't complain.

How do you happen upon free disc wheels?
I mean, I still wouldn't use it, but free does spare your wallet for a lot of tubs.

I ordered it on eBay on Christmas Day as a Christmas present to myself, along with a Zipp 808 tub. Both were ex-display but mint. About two weeks later I got two e-mails via eBay from the seller saying that their supplier couldn't supply the wheels and got a full refund via Paypal. Two days later, the disc arrived. I sent them a message saying a disc wheel had arrived and did they want some money for it, and never heard anything more from them, despite a chaser. It turns out the seller is an eBay reseller, and I can only assume they couldn't be bothered to sort it out. So, free Super9 wheel.

Bad karma to keep it. Pass it on to me to offset this.

It's OK, I've checked my kharmic aura. I'm good.

My favourite Christmas story just changed.

Anyone on here entering the ECCA ten next Sat? I just got the start sheet, and it would be good to say hi to anyone on the forum. Alex Dowsett is on the start list, wonder if he will get near his record.

Anyone on here going to be at Circuit of Ingleborough L271 (bit far north for the average lufgusser I know) tomorrow? Riding 74" fixed, hence hoping for a headwind for the final five miles.

First ride outside on the road T4 yesterday, J4/17 Manchester & District TTA. Put 110" on which would have been alright if I hadn't been stalled a couple of times as it took a while to wind it back up again. Solid training week (4 track sessions!) so very happy with 3rd only 11sec back, 21:55.
That was the practice run, now to decide what gear to run for V718 Good Friday ... PB was 117" (19:33), when I stuck 119" on I couldn't get round the turn and did a short 20!

Was the headwind on King St still bad for the later starters? Took my average down about 2mph

• #11913
I was struggling a bit, only did ~43.5kph or something which felt solid. That last hill a mile from the end I hit so hard I gave myself a stitch and had to sit up a couple of times at the top, ha. How did you get on?
-
• #11914
I went badly, did 24:55, but that's to be expected when I haven't really trained or ridden the tt bike since autumn. The first few miles got my confidence up that I might do an alright time, then King St removed all hope. At least I know that 94" is an OK race gear.

Spewing I missed the entry to the early F11/10 race. :(
Stupid early closing dates.

Should I go to V718 and spend Easter in Hull?
-
• #11918
No, don't be a loser.
Just ride E2/10.
-
• #11919
Said no one ever.
-
• #11920
The E2/10 isn't on during Easter. The V718 is though and I could make a trip of it and spend a day in York or some other nice place up there.
-
• #11921
'near' Hull might be a more accurate statement of my thought.
-
• #11922
York is nice. Just go to York.

I have a bar picked out already...
Mind you, I'd have to actually get into the event. That seems to be the biggest hurdle.

• #11924
B BAR?

Ooof, that's pretty.
