  • Will it be fixed only and no brake? My brother isn't much used to fixed riding but would be happy riding single speed.

  • @dbr It's fixed with no brakes only. You can read the full terms and conditions/rules/equipment guidelines on the ticket page here: https://nltcbmbc.yapsody.com/event/index/32925/thundercrit-1

Let us know if you have any other questions!

  • Sorry, yeah. It's only fixed no brakes just like track riding.

  • No tub tape.
    Lockring.

Not racing but genuinely interested to know why not tape and what about bolt on cogs?

  • I expect bolted axle/skewer systems like Mack are legal

  • Tub tape isn't particularly strong compared to glue and I think most velodromes require glued tubs over taped tubs. Tape is quick and easy, but if the tyre comes off then it can cause carnage. Of course, glued tubs and clinchers can also fail, but we're trying to limit the possibilities.

Bolt on cogs aren't a problem, but we're advising lockrings to be use with standard screw on cogs due to the speed transitions in this type of race.

  • Bolt on hubs or hex key skewered wheels are fine. Just no quick release systems.

  • fair, is BC license required? (Sorry my designer eyes cant read).

If not might see if I can borrow a bike for lols.

  • No BC license needed. We're having to do this without the help of our British Cycling friends...

  • ~72"?

  • Jesus .. I have a #buyer 's itch .. might have to come out of fixie retirement.

  • Lol!

  • If he isn't confident riding fixed brakeless he should just come down and spectate.

Won't be fair on him or anyone else if he causes a crash.

  • Most of the answers to your questions in regards to the THUNDERCRiT can be found here.

  • Fuck it I know I'm going to get totally murked in the race but it looks too fun to pass up, in.

  • @dbr did they let you ride on brklss fixie at LVV road circuit? Could use some 'practice' .. lel.

  • Ride on LVV road circuit fixed with front brake only but don't use it, problem solved!

  • Technically no, but no one has ever checked my bike. Also, as Caz says, you can pretend.

  • What's the bike parking like at Redbridge. Hoping to ride over and spectate.

  • taps nose

Now I just need to get a sweet fixie ..

  • @beach I'm here now, there are Sheffield Stands and railings etc, loads of space for bike piles, it won't be a problem.

  • Is there free parking for those of us coming up from Bournemouth?

  • There's a free car park at the venue and space to setup rollers if needed. We'll also be allowing the top pry of the course to be used for warming up if needed.

  • No way I'm racing but happy to pitch in if you need helpers.
