  • they are back rollers.
I use the vaude version up front on my rawland on a tubus loge rack which have a lower set of rails for panniers.

  • Thanks. Cool bike!

  • New year, new plans.

  • Picked up this today. Much more versatile than the lowrider.

Planning to build a new wheelset for it. Thinking of Reynolds Arc 24 laced to Hope Pro 4 – should be a good upgrade. Also going 1x10, but can't find my spare Wolftooth ring.

Looking forward to getting some trips on this again. Had the first campout over the weekend, but did it by foot. Was great anyway!

  • Whoa. Last I checked, Specialized didn't supply those racks individually. Direct purchase?

  • @chak LBS. At last.

  • A bit messy pics, but rack is on.

  • still a great dark monster bike

  • Such a nice bike!

And that rack gives me hope. I have a racktime top it on my suspension corrected mtb forks that sits way to high.
This looks like it might be a more affordable alternative to the plan of buying a surly krampus fork and rack to get enough space between bars/cables and rack.

  • Nice one, I like the latest incarnation :)

  • Rack looks perfect, any UK stockists?

  • I think I mentioned this bike in another thread somewhere... But this is such a cracking bike. My mate has one. I borrowed it for a quick 50 mile day ride in a pretty much OTP road set up. (Drop bars, 28/30mm road tyres, etc). Absolutely awesome. The route was mainly road with some unpaved single track. So comfy even with that very hard standard spesh saddle it comes with. Felt like I could ride forever. If I was in the market for this type of bike I'd snap one up in a heartbeat.

  • Called up Speshy. Don't do them, and unlikely to, which knocked me out, because according to the guy I spoke to, I was around the 12th person to ask about it in two weeks...

  • Looks great in both guises!

  • Thanks. Looking forward to getting it ready for spring.

  • Did you get the pizza rack at a UK LBS??

  • No, I'm in Oslo, Norway.

  • First post, hi everyone! After touring through Japan last year with backrollers on Blackburn lowrider racks I missed a top platform for extra storage/quick access. I was about to order a Pass and Stow Standard rack when I found out Specialized had finally released the Pizza Rack.

My LBS here in Belgium said he couldn't order it so I found it online at hibike.de.
It's reasonably priced (69 Euro) and a real 'you get what you pay for' type deal. It's not the sturdiest but very light and packable. Only downside is that the Pizza Rack doesn't seem to fit Ortlieb Classic backrollers.

The picture is the bike in full commute mode, for travel I get rid of the fenders and back rack.

  • Thaaaank you! Ordered!

  • does anyone know how the pizza rack mounts to the fork?

  • The only thing you need is threaded holes in the middle of your fork legs. The rack comes with a little triangle for extra options but in my case (and I believe most cases) the hole ligned up perfectly with the rack and installation was a breeze. I did use slightly longer bolts since the ones that were included were a bit short for my set-up.

  • How is the rack? what's the weight like?

  • It's 770 grams, real light compared to racks that offer similar options.

  • Yeah - thanks for this link. Ordered this too!
