A new mantra for you: "Classics not climber."
-

I like climbing though.
Its real simple.
I have a Power I can hold for a set time. I hold it for that time. I get to the top as quickly as can expect to.
I'm not good at using my brain and my legs at the same time.

since changing my diet i've found the most annoying thing is my morning 'routine'* has changed which makes it tough to get an accurate weight reading before eating any breakfast.
my gym scales are always about 1.3-1.5kg lighter than those at home when i weigh before a workout but without having the two sets side by side it's impossible to know what the actual variation is between them and what is a change in weight.
when does everyone else weigh themselves?
*Poo. I'm talking about doing a poo

when does everyone else weigh themselves?>
After waking, post poo, pre morning cuppa. Then again in the evening straight in the door from work. Normally 600-800 g difference.

I always Wake up and do an Austin Powers post hybernation piss.
I then weigh myself.
I have my morning coffee at work. Which initiats my first 'movement' of the day.
This seems pretty regular. Its only if I have a shit load of salt the night before, which then helps bind the 1/2 gallon of water in me. That I get a bad Reading. But I'm not a salty snack kinda guy. So thats pretty rare.

After the first shock post new year hungover weighing it's been pretty consistent over the past 8 weeks. I just get up try and "go" if I can, weigh myself then have breakfast.

After waking, post poo which is initiated by morning coffee (decaf, but it still contains enough caffeine to wake up the colon.)

My fitbit "calories burned" goal buzzer went off just as I was tucking into a huge Chinese take away. Maybe the impending coronary was enough to bump my HR up and burn a few extra.

I've got to get back on this, lack of cycling over winter and hitting the cheap cakes from the work sandwich van seems to have put me back to where I was about a year ago.

Hit my target weight this morning! 72.5kg (probably still dehydrated from yesterday's ride and a loss of 10.1kg since New Year. Might head for 69kg which I reckon would be my ideal climbing weight. Still not drinking which is helping but the want to drink and drink a lot is growing stronger by the day! Need to get the next batch of home brew down.
Have been walking home after work from Canary Wharf to Lewisham which helps and saves money too. -

Serious progress. What app is this?

I've got the Fit Bit Aria 'smart scales'. Saves me manually having to track my weight. I'm lazy. Not really a techy sort of guy but these are ace!

Stomache bug yesterday + day in Mountains skiing With the kids. = 75.3kg today.
Thats as low as I can remember ever weighing. Not sure I'll be able to Train today as I've only just started eating after 40 hours. I was probably crazy dehydrated too. Stillkinda fun to see the number even if it doesnt really Count.

I am testing Mi, Jawbone and FitBit atm .. FitBit is the easiest still not up to the mark. Good thing about Mi is their Api is more open for third party apps and google fit/apple health integration. EVERYONE is selling their hardware at a massive margin.

I've just ordered a Mi Band with HR. What are your thoughts on it? It looks like there's a good aftermarket android app or two that'll let you do things like constant HR readings and also stuff to improve the accuracy of the sleep monitoring function.
I quite like the idea of using the Mi Fit app, Strava and maybe others to feed into something like Google Fit to track general fitness.
It is certainly why I am carrying ahem extra timber.
