Anyone got any better ideas?
Pick a name, buy some more food, get a nice collar.
Congratulations on your new found friend.

Can you keep it for a few days at least? Put some 'cat found' posters out in the original area see if it does have an owner. It's still horribly cold and wet (some days) out there and in case it's a stray cat, I am sure it'll appreciate some warmth and company. Also, I can never feel my cat's chip, so maybe take it to the vet in case there is a chip?
Otherwise, like others have said, good luck and congratulations! Founder's the keeper!

Sadly it's gone back to the bins for now. It sat on my lap the whole way back in the car too, just looking out the window. The current cat is not sociable at all, to the point it doesn't go outside anymore, so introducing a young cat isn't really an option, and I'm away snowboarding all next week. We will keep tabs on it and if it doesn't seem to be getting looked after it will most likely aquire us as its humans

last night the telltale noises of a mouse being tossed about by Moriarty in the hallway, accompanied by trills for me to come and play with it too. I stayed in bed instead. This morning the only evidence was the remains (a nose and whiskers) and not being pestered for breakfast.
savage savage bastards.

I went home late last night to have found another bout of protest - "where is my dinner?": A dead mouse with 2/3 of its head eaten... I cleaned it, bin it and some moments later, I found its tail somewhere else...
Spring must be round the corner...

What can I do about/for them?
Cat shelter will take 'em.
Trapping them is easy.

This idiot went missing for 3 weeks at the beginning of the year - Came back lighter* and jumpier.
* Lighter than 13kg, that is...
Yes. He does need to lose weight - and probably will now that there's 1 less cat & an easier feeding dynamic.
But look at him - he's so padoosh.

This is not my cat. My girlfriend has just started a new job and this cat hangs out in the car park by the bins. She got half way home this evening and it jumped up onto the parcel shelf of her car. It must of snuck in somehow. It has no collar and we can't feel a chip. It's eaten alot, and is quite skinny, but doesn't seem to mind humans and has sat on my lap for 10 minutes. The current plan it to take it back to the bins this evening. Anyone got any better ideas? Don't really want to take it to the rspca in case it does actually have an owner.
