  • just googled - doesn't look as fun

  • moar leds?

  • ha, yeah pretty much. anything that gets me closer to knight rider..

  • Pay day soon. Looking to buy the rega turn table as talked about but also some more speakers for my home cinema kit. Rear surround in particular. Any suggestions? Any one with experience with Dali speakers?

  • my red wining the other night lead to a bid on some speakers, ebay has just informed me. They are very good and i will be fine if I win them, however, they are in Ipswich. Balls.

  • Agreed.

If it was a 12" variant I'd be willing to dedicate a 50 y/o testicle for it.

  • Excellent. I've been listening to mine today for the first time in over a year, in my main system. Like me, it took about an hour to wake up, and it's really singing now.

  • I ended up winning those speakers. They were £1,200 new! Got to be worth the petrol money.

  • What are they?

  • Cura CA21s. I have had my eyes peeled for some ca5s (missed a set for £150 last month) to try after a recommendation and obviously thought these were worth a punt.

  • Road trip!

  • You might find a house.

  • Sounds good. I assume there is no rocket surgery involved in buying adapters for din > rca? More expensive ones better or is it just snake oil?
Should be here for Wednesday, if all goes well my Pioneer will be up for sale. SX 550. Good little amp, pretty clean just nothing fancy. Prob £60?

  • Ha. Maybe...

  • was the ? for me?

  • No, totally not. Cack handed mobile effort. Sorry about that.

  • So, over weekend, I sit down to try and put the list together

    Rega R1 as suggested
Then I found the Cambridge Audio AM1 didn't have phono, so I move on to Pioneer A10 (?), then I find the BX1s cheap.... Total is over 600€ and I shit myself basically. So, the old man is offering me some Tannoy speakers for free as he's not using them. Who though spending money would be so difficult

  • What sort of Tannoys? Some are excellent.

  • I needed these DIN plugs to use my Sugden amp and I spent < £10 iirc and can't say I regretted it.

  • The Mayware adapter is very good, and any Naim dealer will likely have these. If you ever want new cables, these are £1950 in RCA-DIN configuration.

    Will send a pm.

  • @mashton @BRM
    Get the train.

  • with a speaker each?!?

i take it you are still dark with me over our last little road trip...

  • Mate, I just like reminding you of it. It was the one bright point in the day. All three of us. Happy, smiling.
The football was shit, and I had to share a train home with @cornelius_blackfoot.
