  • Columbus Air with C-Record.

  • @haveo FYI Faggin is still making custom Air forks for either 700 or 650c, price is around €110!

  • Really? How do you know? I know that Bishop have made a custom Columbus air frame using nos tubes and also an air fork for a build as well.

  • I did a mass purchase of bits I need to make the Tommasini rideable once the OSCA arrives. I've cheaped out on a few parts for now but they will be replaced when money comes in.

Waiting to sort the cranks and then everything has been bought. The main parts I got are campag pista bb, campag pedals, Cinelli 1A and flite saddle.

  • Because I spoke to the owner of this bike and he had them made, actually I checked again the conversation and the price was €145 (£110) for the raw forks with pantos.

  • Interesting, might send them an email. Thanks for the info

  • So what frame is sacrificing it's forks for the Tomi? The Bio or the Osca?

  • Tommasini is getting the Osca fork, then the Osca is getting the Bio fork. Tommasini is going to be the nice build, and the Osca is going to be a fun parts bin build

  • So Tom will be classic porn, Oscar will be a cheap fixed tt bike (might aswell have a brake lever if the forks drilled) and then get rid of the bionic frame?

  • Yes on the Tom, yes on the Osca (though I probably wouldn't call it cheap..) and I'll probably keep the Bio for now and keep and eye out and fingers crossed for another air seat post?

Looks like I can also get an Air fork from Steve Goff if need be, £160. It also says they can make air frames with seat posts so I imagine I could get a seat post made but likely $$$

  • I hear ya. Stable be looking mighty good. I wish you all the luck finding an air seatpost on its own, you will prob end up paying more than what the frames worth tbh. They go for silly money on ebay but you might be able to use a shimano aero shaped post, im not certain it will work though

  • wasn't there someone on here who managed to just squash some alu tubing into the right shape?

  • I'm hopeful, one went for $50 in the US last November! From what I've read the shimano ones fit but they don't fill all the hole, so you have to plug up the gaps so water can't get in

  • I searched for a bit and couldn't find anything

  • Ted James is your man - if nothing else, he loves a challenge...

  • ^Yup

  • get a machinist to mill a shaped shim/insert to accept a normal post.

  • @b&d I'll give him a try

@drøn problem with that is that because of the narrow width, I'll need a super thin post which is going to look pretty ugly...

  • He's on here as @superted, but I think your best bet is to find him via instagram:

  • Cheers! Purchased, fingers crossed it'll fit (I know it won't fit properly but enough to use)

  • This is what I did, or rather had made:

  • Did it cost a lot?

  • ~45 quid
