  • We're not all dentists.

  • I like the single pillar bars and the colour-matched bits but I don't see the point of going to steel unless you're a genetic freak and can't fit something factory.

  • Well it's still better looking than a Shiv.

I considered steel (Talbot) before I got the T3 but then I'm a bit of a retrogrouch anyway.

  • A dentist would say that.
Have you finished colour matching your Porsche Cayenne to your Cervelo yet?

  • Anyone after a bagged & tagged Castelli Bodypaint 3.0?

    Gone...

  • If anyone sees a cheap ism attack about I need another one to butcher up.
    Let me know.

  • @xavierdisley was it you who said the Ultremo TT tubs are pretty quick? They have latex inners, right?

  • Yes they're not too bad actually. Super grippy, I love them for that

  • I seem to have just entered the North Road Hardriders 25. I'm going to be stupidly slow and may die of pedaling.

  • you'll be fine, half of it is downhill

  • Did my first proper timed attempt at a 10 mile on the Cole Green circuit yesterday. 25m 12s on my Condor track bike - drop bars, no aero, 49x15. Really happy with that as a starting place. Interesting combo of fun tailwind and brutal headwind.

Makes me more tempted to do up my All-City Thunderdome with TT bars and more GI.

  • I'm about to buy an aero brake lever. Just wondered if any one has any recommendations for a reliable lever with a solid feel to it. It is to fit a standard profile basebar with not bend at the end.

I'll only be using one lever so if anyone wants the other one we could split them. (I'll want the left hand lever if they are asymmetrical). Or if anyone has a spare they want to sell, please let me know.

  • I've run Dura Ace alu and carbon levers and they do the job very well.

  • Nothing feels as good as Dura Ace, and they're also pretty much the lightest out there. There's some 3T ones for sale in the classifieds at the moment, they're probably a bit more aero than the Dura Ace but it's all pretty marginal.

  • What are the fastest 10/25/50 courses near London? With Mrs Ratty due with our first fairly soon I'm massively time poor so will be having an early season to hunt some PBs and won't be able to travel great distances. I've had a look at the CTT map of courses, but not really sure what the best options are. Any help massively appreciated!

  • @hippy @umop3pisdn cheers, that's what i was going to go for. now indipendantly verified.

@Ratty the F20/10 F15/10 and F11/10 are probably the quickest in my district. I think the F11 is generally thought to be the fastest, but the turn roundabouts can be a pain.

  • Got an unused Blackwell carbon one, yours for £20 plus £2 post, the other one seems fine on my Mercian.

  • Great thank you - tres helpful!

  • F20/10 has been resurfaced now, apparently it's lost a minute. E2/10 is kinda accessible from London?

  • Islington CC have an event on the F15 in July ;-)

I find the traffic on the F20 a bit nasty, which is why we've moved off that course and onto the F15.

  • Depends what you consider 'near'.

E2 courses, the F11, F20/10, H10/17 had low 19s on it from Topham last year.
H25/2 is meant to be fast but I never seem to get to ride it.

  • Also recommend Dura-Ace (BL-TT79) - currently on TT and HC bike.
You can make them more aero by replacing the factory reach adjust screw with something longer, in order to get the lever blade parallel with the base bar @umop3pisdn
(I chose to cut an M4 machine screw down into a grub flathead screw with a hacksaw)

  • I need to get out there and steamroll it for everyone :)

  • Ah, yeah, the H10/17 was my previous PB course, the H10/22 was the one in April, right? The memorial event? The H10/17 is still pretty good. I can haul my fat arse around low 21s which is good considering my training then was almost all long stuff.
