Newcastle paid us 5 million pounds for Lascelles. 5 million pounds!

• #123928
He was smashed all over the place and got sent off

24 games to get a peno and then 2 come along at once! Who woulda thunk it?

Lascelles looked out of his depth in the championship. He's found his level at Newcastle.

What is it with Steve?
-
• #123932
For all Steve's coaching ability he is just too hard to like or respect. No one really wants to play for him.

It was that fucking Dutch accent.

Isn't it great?

Isn't Cahill a bit shit?

Massimiliano Allegri to be the new Chelsea gaffer. This has to make a Pogba signing a little more likely, though his agent still says Barcelona will happen 'sooner or later'.

if true really interesting, apart from the money, wonder why he would move to the Premier league? Also be intriguing to see how much he can get out of the Chelsea squad and whether he'd be better at bringing their youngers through..

Cahill is prone to lapse every now and then, but he was great for chelsea last season needs to be playing regularly to get the best out of him. i'd be surprised if this happens think Everton could get more money for Stones, and would Stones go to chelsea with all the uncertainty there at present

On the way to school this morning my 10 yr old was discussing our relegation, which he seems to have accepted now.
After a pause he asked if we would still be playing at Villa Park.
Of course, I said, why?
Well isn't that unfair? We've got such a big ground and we'll be playing teams who've only got a muddy pitch with 4 rows of seats and holes everywhere.I did a LOL. And then was a bit sad.

Yeah, wank for us. By that logic they are saying Cahill is worth £30m as City are apparently prepared to pay £50m for Stones
-
• #123942
If Stones is worth £50m then Cahill well may be worth £30m. I think the only reason he's not getting played so much this season is pace, we needed a pacy central defender to balance out JT. I met Cahill briefly, he's tall and wide. Very solid physical player.

So the questions is, is Stones worth £20m more than Cahill? Sounds about right, even pushing into a good deal to me. Cahill is dependable and proven (if mediocre), Stones has far more potential but has not realised it yet. It could go a bit wrong for Stones still and sometimes he seems to make poor decisions. If it all goes right for Stones he'll be a hell of a player. Everton could do with a dependable defender.
So £20m, a good deal for both sides I think.

Is Titus Bramble still playing?
-
• #123945
Wasn't he one of "the accused" with Nile Ranger?
-
• #123946
Don't think so, but Titus' brother Tesfaye was convicted of rape in 2011.
-
• #123947
Cahill + £19m. He'll still come good.
-
• #123948
It could be worse, the Blues could go and get promoted.
