F1B/50
I'm sure I saw this in the handbook for this year. Is it quick? I used to have my 100 PB on an F1 course but I can't really remember how it compares with Hounslow because I was just faster at Hounslow and it didn't matter that the course was sub-optimal for me.

I'm trying to work out what the distance variants are at Etwall, ie. is the A25/11 fast? is the A50/whatever fast? etc? If it's generally a fast bit of road then I'll head up there a few times and check it out for multiple distances.
P886 is a sporting course and P885 is fast? Why do they do this to me? :P

Hutch 1:38:55, but what will a lump like me do on it?EDIT: I've ridden the P885/50 before and done a 1:53:38 (it was my PB at the time even with a bunch of mistakes):

I'm a bit tempted to ride down and do the P886 sporting course in Feb on the road bike and ride back for a bit of a training ride with a difference.

A25/11 is very fast, though as a fat lump you might be faster on the Welsh course, or one of the variants they haven't banned.
A50/6 is comp record course, half of the 100 course. It's fast, bit of a drag up the concrete mountain but I managed fine on fixed.
J5/12 is the A50/6 in reverse, basically.
What's your club record?

cant imagine its a huge problem for the regular TTers here, as most are members of other clubs, but a shame for anyone who wants a super easy way of giving it a go, other than the come and try it option for club events..

List of the fastest 50 courses anyone?
E2/50 is pretty nippy. Flat, DC all the way.

Ok, I'll highlight all the fast ones and see which ones I can ride.
This is what I need...
10mi - 19:55 (20:53, H10/22)
25mi - 50:36 (55:12, H25/1)
50mi - 1:50:12 (1:51:09, R50/1b)
100mi - 3:45:47 (3:52:?, H100) -

I don't know if it is an issue for anyone but I heard that as of last night LFGSS had not re-affiliated with CTT.
Well it is for me.
Where did you hear this?

10 - F11 on a decent day, V718 on a half decent day.
25 - Etwall or Wales on a good to very good day.
50 - P885 on a half decent day
100 - Etwall on a half decent day -

How much of that is same as the E2/30 course?
That was fast for me last year - I would've got my 25mi club record on it (if it was a 25).Is the E2/10 the same?
-
• #11587
Which variant of the F11 is it again? F11/10?
Why not Etwall for the 50 too?
-
• #11588
F11/10. You'd smash it at Etwall, depends how far you want to travel.

You might want to prod in the appropriate forum: http://www.lfgss.com/microcosms/556/
I'm interested as it was going to be my backup if my local running/tri club didn't sort out its own CTT affiliation (they said they would this year).

Like I said, I'm tired of doing the same H courses.
I have a car and I'll give some new places a go, especially if they're faster. -

Largely the same course - up and down the A14/A11. The start/finish for the 50 is at Six Mile Bottom (oooo er) rather than Newmarket, and you don't do the A1303 bit at the end, but instead do the southern part of the course twice.
The E2/10 is essentially the southern part of the E2/50 course that you end up doing twice on the E2/50.

Ok, I'll add all those E2 variants to my list. Cheers!
-
• #11593
Don't forget the E2/25 too - that's where I set my 25 mile PB. Same stretch of road.
-
• #11594
Yeah, I meant all the distance variants, ie. E2/10, E2/25, E2/50, etc. I think there's more races on them during the year too which gives me more chance to catch it on a good day.

Ha ha, I told you on Saturday - but as discussed at the time, I do suffer from being non-memorable ;)
A few opens on the F11, and I live about 10km from the HQ. But my PB was on the F20/10 which is on the A10 road near Hertford - I've always gone faster on that having ridden both of them a good few times.

• #11596
I bet that was before the F20/10 was chipped though?
-
• #11597
They were amongst the list of clubs who had not paid at the LWDC committee meeting last night.
-
• #11598
Ah, right. I remember your username from TTF now - I'm not on it much so it's more my brain than your lack of 'presence' ;)
I'll add the F20/10 to my list. I'm not sure how these 10s are gonna sit with 600k audaxes but what the hell!
-
• #11599
Just the week before IIRC.
Fun fact: That night, "#2" missed an 18 by 2 seconds.I rode again about a fortnight later, just after the chipping and was 23 seconds slower (in similar conditions) but I'm sure it's bedded in a bit better by now.

F20/10 has been chipped, now 45s to 1 min slower apparently.
Etwall, as per usual. P885 is fast, I was on for a 1:52 until I missed the finish line.
