  • Must do this next time I'm we're visiting the in-laws. Walking distance to the Galpharm too.

  • If you're in Huddersfield for boozing it's worth popping into Zephyr on Byram Street for a swift half just to check out the beautiful art deco interior of the old Neaversons shop.

  • Cheers, will add to the list

Had Wild's Epic Saison this evening. Can't believe I've not had it before, it's beautiful.

  • I tried a bottle of that the other day, found it quite bland... :(

  • Was shortly after a Trolltunga, might have been why.

  • Few beers in the pub this afternoon, first two were pretty disappointing. Thornbridge Baize Chocolate Mint Stout and Southwark Brewery's Porter

Thornbridge Chocolate Mint Stout is rank, it's like drinking a box of after eights.

The Southwark porter was possibly the blandest beer I have tasted recently, no discernable flavours whatsoever.

  • Oakham Ales Green Devil IPA was great, though it cost £7.10!!!!! in the Hare and Billet in Blackheath.

  • Siren Carribean Chocolate Cake is insane. So much going on. I like it but am glad I'm not drinking it alongside owt else.

  • Southwark beers are pretty awful, they are lovely guys but not great at brewing or cleaning their kit.

  • One of the best beers I've ever had. Best on tap (not sure why).

  • For those near The Ring Bar in Southwark......

    In approximate order

    Pint
    Antipodean
    Earl Grey IPA
    Lagonda
    Ginger
    Ginger/Chocolate Mix
    Bitter
    Dobber

  • Currently enjoying a birthday treat of a bottle of Harviestoun Ola Dubh. Matured in Highland Park whisky casks. It is splendid.

  • Whats the deal with Beer rebellion in Sydenham? Did they chose a wrong spot? Was I there at odd time (4pm sat)? I was the only one there! Felt so bad that just bought bottles for home consumption ..

    Very good tho.

  • When I worked just down the road from there, it was known as meeting room 5.

    Beer was shit then.

  • I go to the one in Peckham.

  • Being a bit of a late night bastard tonight.

    A Founders double bill of:

    Dirty Bastard 8.5%

    and

    Backwoods Bastard 11.6%

    Ouch...

  • Ha!

We have 'Meeting Room 7'. Oddly enough there always seems to be a 7, whether we're in the City or Paddington and regardless of how many other meeting rooms there are...

  • Moved house, new local Morrisons sells cans of Adnams Jack Brand Rye IPA. Anyone had it?

  • Yes.

I wrote 'British IPA, decent, not amazing, bit hard to follow a Brewdog visit though'.

  • Adnams are a bit cack in general, though I've never tried that particular beer.

Had Brewdog Vagabond the other day. Very nice. It seems like they've finally cracked that real American Pale Ale flavour now (the sweetness to the malt flavour). Reminds me of Goose Island IPA.

  • The Adnams Jack Brand Mosaic is lovely. I'll give the rye IPA a go.

  • Finally tried my own-brew (wot I made here: https://www.brewclub.uk.com/) - pale ale from extract. Turns out it's pretty nice! Nothing too complex going on but very clean tasting and session-y.
