  • Adnams Jack Brand Rye IPA

Just realised - I've had that on tap, having looked at a photo of the label. Ok, but a bit "thin" in a soda-watery sort of way. Enjoyable, but nothing special.

  • My owls don't take orders from forins, sozza

  • flying monkey death squad unleashed

  • Had the Rye IPA, was alright. Nothing special but not disgusting. Our new fridge has a built in bottle holder, get in!

  • Does not compute. My fridge IS a bottle holder.

  • touché

  • I'd be worried that as I was supping my first glass you'd have up-ended the bottle..

  • Drool

  • Simon's out, said it works out £44 for a 330ml serving

    Wow, mugging us off

  • More people, smaller measures.

  • The to-ol Talinin (?) was tenner a 330ml bottle at bunburys, too pricey really.

Cheaper & closer to home another belter by Vocation, Divide & Conquer Black IPA.

  • Just got one of these to put away

    Also got

    Emelisse Belgian Dubbel
Mikkeller Zest Please and Spontan Rosehip
    Sly Fox Grisette
    Stone Cali-Belgique
    Black Market Blackberry Sour
    Edge Padrino
    To Ol Releaf me
and erroneously sent a Hof ten Dormaal Belgian sour
    Weird Beard Faithless Spreadsheet Ninja
Mad Hatt Classic Tripel and Brunch Club
Northern Monk Parsnip and Black Pepper Dunkelweiss
    Magic Rock/Kees Brewed with Friends

  • Are you going to age the Brooklyn Barley Wine, or just get straight into it? For all I know, maybe it's already aged.

  • It's a year old already but their website says "Hand & Seal is ready to enjoy now, yet good things shall also come to those who cellar it" so I'll probably keep it for another year. Should have bought two really, one for now and one for later.

  • Had a couple of pints of Redwell West Coast Pale last night and was surprised by how good it was. Have always thought Redwell were ok but hadn't had anything standout previously.

There's a Stillwater takeover on at Mother Kelly's so might drop by there after work and check it out

  • Tricky business. I cracked into my homebrew barley wine after three months. Trying to keep some back.

  • Yeah it's hard. I got a case of 6 barleywines from Borg in Iceland and the first one I had tasted like a really harsh dessert wine so think I'll keep them a bit longer.

  • Mine tasted horrendous when it was young. I honestly thought something had gone wrong.

  • Started the weekend with Mikkeller's Sort Kaffe

  • Should have bought two really, one for now and one for later.

Often this, particularly on the Rasputin I got.

Cloudwater Winter IPA, v.tasty, not at all boozy for an 8%er

  • Cloudwater Porter is magnificent. Anspach & Hobday have made an NZ hopped session ipa which is incredibly moorish, shame it's only available on keg. They really need to bottle more of their range.

Sabrina in the bottle shop showed me their barrel aged Noa peacan mudcake kegs today. They will be in my belly next weekend.

  • Secret Life of Welsh Food is all about Welsh beers.
