We are moving to a new house with higher ceilings...anyone know if you can just buy the pendant as i had to cut the cables for the current fitting.

Your next door neighbours would be able to see you having sex in the kitchen.

prefer string tbh - find the ladderax supports a bit heavy visually.

• #12282
Do you mean actual string or is that a brand?
Ours aren't actually Ladderax, but Ladderax style ones made by Brianco in the early 70s which are a little less heavy visually. Just like these (but these aren't actually ours):

@chrisbmx116 - your exceptional taste knows no bounds. That's exactly what I am looking for, REP. Have you used him before?
@mands @tenderloin I'm a fan first, dealer second. I run a contract furniture business.
Ladderex is superb. Check out String (via SCP too).

@Fahrgestell knows what's up with the string. It's either string (judging by the cabinet) or very similar in your pic too.
I would have gone for vitsoe 606 here but it's the tiniest smidge too wide for intended area :(

Tom, yours looks really good! Esp the matchy sides! I think you've done a phenomenal job!

Whilst the furniture is impressive, the fact that you own a book by James Martin is not.

Nothing wrong with it, it's just taste innit*. I'm just surprised how popular it seems to be.
I don't find it very homely, personally. Like there's not enough to hold. But it works with "feature" furniture and stuff. I've got cheap tat furniture and loads of clutter so I like a lot of colour on the walls, and I like things like window frames and architraves.(* unless it's frameless glass balustrades with no handrail... those are just wrong)

I've been stalking those as well!

Ha, your too kind... Uncommon projects also look decent. I haven't used either I'm afraid so can't be of much more help. And unto this last will do custom stuff.

@chrisbmx116 @Fahrgestell - we spoke to Matt Antrobus about our new kitchen. In the end we got the joiner whose done work on the rest of our extension to do something (ahem) 'similar' as we needed it to be in line with the existing original 60's parts of the kitchen.
I haven't got a decent pic but will see if I can grab a quick phone one of where it is for now.
(Will also be having string shelving elsewhere, natch)
