  • I think when new the Lezyne battery would last about 90mins on full power..even 3 years later it lasts about 45mins, 15 mins longer than the 'new' Ultrafire one.

  • Get an EFest one from an e-cigarette shop

  • What format are the files in?

Sounds like a job for ffmpeg.

  • MXF (either IMX50 for SD for or DNX XDCAM for HD).

Do you know, I used to use ffmpeg years ago for batch converting files and completely forgot about it. Didn't know it could handle LUFS stuff though which is nice. Never found it particularly user friendly though.

As it happens I ended up speaking to Iain from Emotion who very kindly talked me through the exact settings for Emotion File Finisher (eFF) which is absolutely fucking great. He was really helpful and I can't recommend the product enough. I'm on a 10 day trial but will definitely buy a copy. Once I'd gotten over the slight fiddle of figuring how to create my own profile it was a dream. I've submitted a test to the broadcaster who cleared it and the full files are all happily uploading as I type.

  • That path that goes from Finsbury Park to Highgate, what's it like at the moment?

    1) muddy as fuck
    2) bit muddy, but you'll be fine on 25c tyres
    3) smooth as a very smooth smooth thing

  • Cheers. After looking at a map, it turns out that's not the quickest way to Muswell Hill jumble for me, after all. I shall avoid.

  • My girlfriend has superglued a ballbearing into her seatpost to keep the saddle safe, but now wants to change the saddle. I would say acetone / heat, but it's a carbon seatpost...

    Anyone advise?

  • New bike.

  • Or careful acetone.

  • New bike girlfriend.

    ftfy

  • Acetone with a brush. Slowly.

  • @Emyr & @snottyotter ta lads

@rive_gauche new girlfriend would be more expensive

  • What location is this picture taken from? I'm trying to work it out.

  • EDIT. S'not Ingerlund is it?

  • Dang! I thought there was some nice secret cycle path you could see Cannery Worf and the big bike wheel from in Lundun. Double dang, with added dang.

    Thank you BTW Mr Clockwise.

  • the big bike wheel

London's big bike wheel has a Lefty style fork

  • It does? Bluddy Pollyticks interfering with stuff again, dang!

  • The lock nut atop an old Dura Ace HP-7400 headset (fig. 1) . Would that be 31mm? I bought a 32mm Icetoolz headset wrench but I'm afraid to turn it as it feels too loose fitting. My crappy Draper callipers tell me it's 32mm.

What does your crappy Draper caliper tell you about the size of the wrench? However bad the absolute measure, you should be able to get a good idea of the difference between the nut and the wrench, although you seem to have figured that out by direct comparison :-)

Octagonal nuts obviously need much tighter tolerance between wrench and nut than hexagonal ones, this might be one of those occasions when a decent adjustable wrench is actually the best solution

  • I can wiggle my caliper and get various readings, hence its crapiness. An adjustable spanner may be a good idea then since you don't need the wrench to be a thin profile for the headset?

  • you don't need the wrench to be a thin profile for the headset?

For the lock nut, you don't need super thin jaws, although if you're getting the adjustable wrench just for your cycling tool box, thin jaws would be a good plan (handy hint; add search term 'plumber' to find the thin jaw adjustable wrenches) as they can get into some of the nooks and crannies.
