I've been wearing SS Gabba + dhb ss merino down to about 7/8c here in the East with a gilet over the top, which to be honest I could probably ditch if I was willing to put up with that first 20 mins of cold.

I have both.
Both together is like a burger-pizza - you'd have to be crazy or high to be a fan.
I would not pay £60 for the sofshell base. A HH Lifa and a lightweight gilet combo does similar and you probably already own them.

The HH Lifa is gonna stink after a while.

All of my cycling kit ends up stinking after a while and yes, I do wash it.

A while?
You mean 'the ride'?
Laundry: allow it.

Why the fuck does the London shop never answer the phone. Very unimpressed
-
• #22984
because they're busy?

• #22985
Try emailing them.

Have you considered writing a letter?

Are you going to talk to the person there in the store or answer the phone? My guess is that they are busy, not ignoring the phone. Like Bear says, try emailing them.

I know that they won't be purposely ignoring it, but I rang at various times in the day two days in a row and got nowt. You'd expect maybe one reply surely?

Anyone have any experience (in cold and wet weather) with the pro team softshell gloves?
I'm off for a months (November) riding in the Colorado mountains, any kit people would consider indispensable for that kind of riding/location/weather? I've got a bunch of Rapha vouchers that need spending and want no excuses for not riding when I'm out there.

Currently using them atm, so far so good at this temperature! Good for a light drizzle but definitely not waterproof (more windproof)

I don't but my brother says they are awesome. I have a pair of winter gloves which work well and are good with the liners. I also have a pair of the merino gloves, which don't seem to keep the hands warm at all, any wind just goes straight through the glove.

I'm in Colorado at the moment, was riding both days last weekend - aero-onesie, sunglasses, lots of water.
However, it's already cold when the sun isn't yet in the sky- I had ice crystals blowing through the cone of light in front of me when riding out pre-dawn.
It is really, really dry out here usually - so focus on layers that lock in the warmth (and that can be stripped off in a hurry on a long climb in the sun) rather than anything aimed more at rain.

Has anyone got a quick and easy way of threading an earphone cable through the loops on PTjerseys?
TIA
The merino mesh is pretty amazing considering the actual wool content. Actually prefer mine to my pro team bases.
