O.K. Look forward to seeing you there.
Potentially, those who want do the steeps on the other side of Pitch can but it largely depends on what route we do. -

man, my 1st gen Maverick Speedball dropper post finally died proper as i got curious and tried to fix it - spat all its fluid all over the place :/
it always had an issue with rotational play - i'm guessing this is engineered out these days?

I have no experience with the Speedball but it seems that even with the modern droppers this is an issue, as far as I'm aware. Reverbs seem to develop play, even Thomsons, KS Levs, etc. It seems inherent in many designs though the degree to which such play develops to has a limit, of course. Thomson informed me that if the rotational play moves beyond 3mm then it should be returned for servicing/replacement. My Thomson has a very limited amount of play but it has got no worse in over a year.

might hold off on a replacement then! boy will i miss it tho :/ simple cockpit it is..

From my own experience, and that of the other guys I ride with, I would still recommend a Thomson. The ever so slight side-to-side slop that may occur means nothing to the amazingly reliable performance of the dropper. It has never, ever, even in a the worst conditions, failed to perform. I know that this is not the case with other types besides the purely mechanical - such as the Gravity Dropper, Specialized Command Post, etc) - and unlike those it has more than two or three positions.
Infinite, and all that. -

With any luck conditions should be good on Saturday. It looks like rain for the next couple of days so that should damp down what has been some very dusty trails nicely.

I'm a maybe at this point, got quite a few work issues that need sorted in the next few days. Hoping to make it down there though!

If you can make it it would be great. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can clear the work in time.
