  • So much ultra racing on right now!

  • Ha! cool

    books USA flights for 2016

  • Summer innit :)

Makes me feel even shitter about spending all my time riding up and down fookin A roads just to go further than last time.

  • Will be looking out for Greger Sundin of Sweden - stayed with me when he was over for a RAAM briefing in Feb/Mar, and he hadn't started training. But he's a freak who never does more than 6hrs a week anyway.

Adrian in 2nd place now by ~20miles, Jesse 260 miles in front.

Hmm, if AO can podium this.. maybe I can..

  • It's all mental. Really...
Given you keep coming back for more 24h races, I'd say your insane enough!

  • I need to watch the tracker on replay and see how jessie pulled out such a lead. Wonder if he's sleeping a lot less or riding faster, or both.

  • Yeah, but my thing is wanting to go faster, not sure I want to go longer... guess we'll find out in the future. :)

didn't see that one. Yeah, still think he's riding faster too.

Wonder how he's getting on with that torture saddle!

  • 2700km across Japan: http://japanese-odyssey.com/

  • Not a race but would be great to go back there on a bike.

  • I suppose it's more an ultra-audax... although I wondered if the "not a race" message is to keep the authorities happy/comply with local laws etc.

  • Someone is always first though, even if it's "not a race".

    (I am never first.)

  • The Things (Joth and Emma) start RAAM as part of a team doing it on tandems at noon (Pacific time) on Saturday.

  • @SKINNY Jesse is sleeping/stopping a lot less. He's got a big lead but still a while to go yet. AO is a close friend and mentally tough. Speak to him recently and sounds very fresh. Can everyone get behind him and push him home. 2/3rd has probably 6 contenders so should be interesting.

  • Yeah, that was the impression I got from the tracker.

As you say, long way to go and anything can happen!!

  • JC is still smashing it up.

Hippys/Scultura mate Adrian is going to have to fight it out for a podium.

    Not long left.

  • Just spoke with him there. He's in good spirits. It is going to be a tactical battle for 2nd spot with basically 5 guys in contention.

I told him to turn the tracker off citing 'dead batteries' and go into stealth mode. Pop up on Thursday night 300km from the finish.

  • They've started well.

  • Yeah, they've been bunched up for most of the race. No idea what state any of them are in though and who's got what left in the tank and the head...

  • I like your style. Wanna job as hippy's 2016 TransAm strategist? ;)

  • @hippy If the end game goes well this week then I may have various riders and 'teams' knocking on my door next year but I'll keep you in mind.

  • Ha! Sneaky, but That assumes other people give a damn about others races.

Just go as fucking hard as you can and don't stop going till you can't go no more. Then keep going till you arrive the the finish. If anyone beats you there, they deserved it as you couldn't have done any more!
