Since my last check Jesse has opened up an 85 mile lead and is pretty much 100 ahead of Adrian...!

Adrian said he wasn't likely to win it so his plan was to smash the start and at least lead for a while and then try and maintain in order to finish top five I think.

In news the defending 2x winner so both editions of Transcontinental kristof allegaert has withdrawn in order to race RedBull Transiberia (think RAAM in russia).
Shame.

Nah, I'm already busy this year with local stuff. Might head to the US later in the year to race the Worlds or the 508 or the Texas 24 and turn it into a bit of a holiday with the missus.

More of a triathlete, but was always a bike monster, and been training full time for the last couple of years - I was in Mexico with him when he became DecaIronman world champion and Italy when he did Triple Deca Ironman, and he's unbelievably strong. The other entrants look pretty experienced with impressive palmareses, this race will be fun to follow.

100mi WR? Got any details about that ride?

I don't, and am fairly sure it's incorrect, some of the other details definitely are.

Update: the 100m velodrome WR was to be attempted this month, but called off due to money pressures, as Russia will cost a fuckload. It's not the first time he's found an obscure record to go for. He's done the 4th longest distance in 48 hrs on a treadmill. It's not exactly a hard fought record - I did it with him and I'm now 7th or 8th on the list, despite power walking the last 100 miles after falling off and injuring myself.

Ha! Awesome update. Treadmills scare the shit out of me, but then I can barely walk on stable ground at the best of times.

Can't imagine it's going to be a cinematic masterpiece but from Inspired To Ride, it looks like they're a pretty cool outfit, putting on food for the riders and staying up all night to fix whatever shit is needed whenever they roll through
