Started a beer blog. Only one post at the moment but hopefully will have features with brewers, details of my brew days and reviews of a wide variety of beers in future

Hardcore IPA for a deuce? Wow.
Tweeted. I don't often go into our tesco. Pretty sure the only drinkable stuff they have is Leffe.

Let me know if you want me to pop to OKR Tescos for you, I live 10 mins away from it!

I read that yesterday, was a good save. Pretty sure a lot of breweries sell new beers that are just their usual ones that have gone wrong. I suppose it's better than draining it all.

This is good stuff.
In my opinion, the Hardcore IPA is too harsh/boozy. You can work a recipe to cover this harshness, but it doesn't seem like it has been done here. Tastes a bit like an IPA with a shot of vodka in it.

It's cool hearing about the realities of working in a brewery, and how batches can be variable.
I would have preferred it if they'd called that beer a highly hopped stout (it's not really an IPA, assuming they still used lots of dark malts).
Weird Beard are brilliant though. See if you can catch Mariana Trench in the Defectors when it's on hand pump.

Went to the Bree Louise, Doric Arch and Euston Tap last night. Best beer was a Fullers Vintage 2009 bottle. Just amazing. £6.25 for 500ml. Style was Barley Wine.

Yeah I've definitely had better examples of a Double IPA, IIPA, Extra IPA or whatever else anyone wants to call them
If you ever get the chance seek out the tv series Dogfish Head did. Lots of realities of brewing on there as well as some very interesting brews.

I'm hoping to get to their next open day. I want to get hold of some Beam barrel Sadako.

I have fallen back in love with Marble Brewery (Manchester) after drinking their Howgate & Kemp. It's a New Zealand pale ale and is one of the best beers I've had in ages. It tastes/smells great, really tropical. The only downside is that it's 2.70/half, but at 6.4% I can't really complain too much.

They had the Brewmasters show on a day marathon one weekend. Simon left the house at lunch with me watching it only to return in the evening to find me in the exact same spot still watching it.

I've made a note to look for a copy of it.

I bought three 660ml bottles. Brilliant stuff. Also get the Weird Bro(d)mance if you can.
-
• #3695
Will look/ask for it. I should just leave work early one day and call in, get their whole range to myself. mwuahahahahaaa

Don't bother to say thanks for the link to the free case of beer then?
-
• #3697
I didn't ask for it, assumed it was in reference to the beer subscription convo I wasn't involved in
-
• #3698

That stuff is like crack to me. Always have the 1845 at norths, which is their more regular strong ale
Yeah, Cocoa Psycho is lovely. And I also like their Imperial Stouts and Barley Wines.
