It's clearly Timothy West, preparing for a new role as an enraged restaurateur

Harsh to point out the driver's dickishness in reviews of his cafes on TripAdvisor? Along with photos of him at his most neanderthal?

Haha oh wow, this isn't going well for the angry driver: https://mobile.twitter.com/thejoyofenglish/status/605483739095961600
NSFW, by the way.

ok, that'll do internet, that'll do.

Controversial - can't help thinking that the cyclist was a bit of a plank and provoked most of the outburst...
-

To be fair to the cyclist if I had been passed that closely I would have been pissed off too. However he does escalate the situation almost immediately with a tirade of abuse, which seems to last forever. The cyclist should have stayed calm and let the angry shouty gimp blaze away until he realized he looked like an utter tool.

• #5985
I find it real easy to stay calm after someone his deliberately driven 2000kg of heavy machinery straight at me
-
• #5986
Ironic that he spends 5 minutes spitting and swearing about being held up by cyclist.
-
• #5987
I know, right - he was totally asking for it, otherwise he wouldn't have been wearing Lycra and a short skirt, the saucy minx.

Had a really poor response just now, for the most part it looks like they didn't even read what I had written, more important to tell me off for wanting to get the fuck away from the mental guy as I did so without greater consideration for his personal safety as he larked about in the road and attacked another person.
Sent in.
Your Information: Driver of silver car is apparently cut up by the bus at some point so exits the car shouting at the bus driver, spits at driver via open window as I pass and almost hit him(didn't expect him to turn around like that and didn't want to hang about for an angry guy to notice I got him on camera). After a bit I look over my shoulder to see it's still going on so dismount and walk back as I do the driver reverses and attempts to pass the bus on the other side which the bus driver blocks by pulling the bus infront of him, the silver car driver then reverses again and makes an escape down mount ephraim road.

The bus driver has likely reported this and I gave the bus driver my number but not been called. I'm unsure how to pass on the information, sorry if this is a misuse of roadsafe but you guys seem to be fastest and can take links.Response.
Thank you for your submission to Road Safe - London concerning the incident detailed below. This is now under investigation.
We have forwarded the details on to our contact at TfL for consideration with any allegation made by the driver. We will write to the driver of the Vauxhall to advise of correct conduct. It is unknown if the pedestrian received any injuries as a result of the apparent contact between the two of you. On seeing a person in the road it is advisable to alter course, in this case go round the car, or approach at such a slow speed that they have to walk into you to make contact after you stopping. -

@Clockwise this is useless without entertaining / scary video.

This is ABSOLUTELY how I feel. The cyclist guy's obviously shaken up and frightened by the nutty driving, it shows in his anger and wobbly voice. The cafe owner twonk was SO quick to start going nuts at the rider it makes you wonder if he does this sort of thing a lot.
I had something similar happen to me in Nunhead the other day, it ended with a chase where I manged to find a traffic filter to pass through and leave the driver behind. I was totally freaked out and had adrenaline pumping like crazy. All started because I used my horn to hint that the driver was passing me too close. The guy immediately went into one.

Pulled it down. I want to help the bus driver but if the roadsafe team decide "oh we can do the cyclist witness for cycling past the guy" then I'm not going to put myself at risk.

yeah, my default response to any driver rolling down a window is generally shout first, think later, since it's usually at the end of some harum scarum clusterfuck of obnoxious, dangerous driving. Because I'm big and hairy it is usually effective at deflecting further abuse.

To be honest I'm always taken aback by how mental people get. Chap in Baywater tried to squash me and the wife with his X5. I asked him politely at the next lights to not do so next time. He got out of the car and went mental, raving on about how if he killed us he'd be angry about his insurance premium going up.
His wife (assume) and child were in the car.
Who are these people? What, exactly, is wrong with them?

I think next time I'm gonna just ask "why are you so angry?" and see what happens. And then ask if they've got a tiny penis when their incoherent rage babble spews forth.

I had a chap offering to put me in hospital for slapping his car as it drive inches from me.
I rubbed his belly and suggested he calm down.
It was a bit of a bizarre conversation.

I've an old school friend who refuses to accept that road tax isn't a thing, he just goes on and on about cyclists not having a right to be on the road.
He's written off three cars, had another two cars repossessed due to not paying the HPI, had a third party-insured superbike nicked off the street and been bailed out to the tune of many tens of thousands (maybe hundreds) by his wealthy mother for unpaid debts.
He's a financial advisor (who gets sacked a lot). This is the sort of idiocy we're up against. The sort of idiot who against all evidence still believes they and their car is king of the road. And their drug and alcohol problems mean that they're one flick of the wrist away from being murderers.

Belly rubs do tend to be the best way to defuse a tense situation.
^ Their squeaky version of the video is brilliant.
