Had identical encounter this morning with a motorcyclist (though without the extended shouty shouty) - Waterloo Bridge is the worst for filtering motorcyclists.

• #5931
And along Bishopsgate, that cycle lane just west of Liverpool Street, you get motorbikes going undertake crazy round there.

Putney Bridge Road is like a racetrack, it's a little bit wider than most other roads which really seems to promote fuckwittery.
I really dislike the bit further up under the railway bridge.

Seemed obvious why it got a dent on the passenger side door.
Defintely feel more comfortable knowing I have insurance (camera).

You need to show at least two minutes of footage before the incident or the police will assume you kicked the door in.
-
• #5938
That is the funniest fucking thing I have ever seen.

Sorry, rider's a prick, walk on the pavement, don't leg it across the junction wheeling your bike. Those coppers could have caught seven Jimmy Saviles in the time they wasted there.
-

Whatever you think of the "walk of shame" the rider is right. The splendidly named "Crank Vs Brooks" case established that a person pushing a bike is regarded as a pedestrian.
-
• #5944
He's a bit of a nob doing that but he's a legally correct nob.
-
• #5945
"Crank Vs Brooks" was on a zebra crossing, not hoofing it across a junction.
-
• #5946
Yes, but the key point was that a person pushing a bike was deemed to be a pedestrian. It's not that people pushing bikes are allowed to use zebra crossings, the ruling means people pushing bikes should be treated as pedestrians in the context of the Road Traffic Act.

I do this, occasionally. And by this, I mean dismounting and ambling through a junction on foot when it's safe to do so. I might have a little jog if prevents other peds or road users from being inconvenienced.
It makes a lot of sense at some junctions, where the signals are routinely ignored by pedestrians, cyclists and drivers - an example being the omnishambles that is the Pread Street / Paddington Station / London Street clusterfuck.

Interesting stuff on Radio 4 'unreliable evidence' tonight (Sat 30th May, about 10pm) re cycling and law. Including a cyclist lawyer admitting to jumping lights, and the validity of video evidence.
Have a listen on bbc i player if you're interested.
Ian.
Ary then.
