What's the deal with getting out of cyclescheme agreement? My understanding was if you've got the voucher, you're tied in, whether you use it or not...
-

Cancellation rights: You have a right to cancel this agreement upon the later of 14 days from the date you receive an email containing a link to the fully approved and executed agreement under the Consumer Credit Act 1974, or within 14 calendar days beginning with the day after you acquire physical possession of the equipment under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
I think I have 14 days from today when i received my voucher.

Looks like i missed the boat on the pacentis, only left in 28 holes which isn't loads for a big unit such as myself.
-

They only had the 28 hole ones going cheap
Get the disc brake version - iirc I have the cl25s and they have built up nicely and are running tubeless road tyres very happily. More details on the commuto cross bike thread.

I love my Croix, considered the Equilibrium, but more room for bigger tyres on the Croix. Think you can get about 30c in the Equilibrium, whereas the Croix will take 40c with room for mud. Had an Equilibrium 853 before and loved it, just wanted to try discs, and will never go back. Can't fault Genesis bikes at all, good quality, good price, only let down is the colour schemes, can't see why they offer bikes in one colour and only make the frameset avaliable in a different one, case in point being the Longitude, bike in army green, frameset in beige......?
Whichever you plump for, I'm sure you'll love it. -

Do you think I can get away with 28 holes? I'm at 85 kilos plus a few for luggage.
That makes both the rim and the dynamo cheap

Today I'm leaning towards the croix de fer.

Do it! You won't regret it.

The colour is growing on me. I'm going to try and swing my leg over one this week.

I really like the burnt orange one, so understate, much class
-
• #14
In fact that's really nice.

I was unsure about the colour to start with, but in the flesh it really is a lovely colour, and if you happen to take a bit off with a scratch, not to worry, to get the depth of colour, the base coat is black.

I've just bought a shutter precision dynamo to go with which ever one i get. Currently trying to decide what rims to get, coming to the conclusion that all of them are pretty much the same and will all be fine.
Black hub, black rims and silver hubs is a legit combo. Isnt it?

I'm gonna put archetypes on my Cdf, people really rate them, wide and no braking surface so look good with discs.

they are pretty pricey though

After a nights kip I think I'm pretty much set on the CdF.
Anybody know anywhere selling it sub r.r.p?
Also, where might one purchase a set of TRP Spyres? -

Pm incoming. Hope it helps.

Freeborn doing spyres for £55/set

Thanks, I'm still keeping an eye out for some second hand ones at the minute. I'm hoping someone will of taken the plunge to full hydro and will want to get rid of their Spyres or HY/RDs.
This is mainly because my wheel build budget is escalating. I've just emailed CNC bikes about a custom wheel build. I assume the rear OLD is 135mm?
I think I've sorted my tyres as well. I'll probably get some clement strada llg 28c. It will of been quite a long time since I've had non-gunwalls.

Yep rear is 135mm.

Thats where i started off, I found a nice set for about £100. Then I wanted a SP dynamo, then I wanted 11 speed road cassette compatibility for the future. Then I spent loads of money!
I went and test rode an equilibrium disc 10 yesterday. I really liked it but it's not quite exactly what I want. Ideally I'd like a 105 group and a dynamo front hub. By the time I've bought these and with my job uncertain for the next 12 months it doesn't make sense to buy on the cycle2work scheme anymore so I'm thinking about building from scratch.
With this comes its own problems; should i buy the equilibrium disc frameset or the croix de fer frameset?
There doesn't appear to be much difference between the two so I'm swaying towards the equilibrium as I prefer the colour scheme.
I'll build it up initially with a 5700 105 Group (I have this spare already) and some TRP Spyre Calipers.
I'd also like to build up some nice wheels. I was looking at Pacenti SL25 rims, which are on offer at Planet X at the minute. I'd like the front to have a dynamo and was looking at a shutter precision. I dont know what to use on the rear. I think i'd prefer 6 bolt fitting so I can use the rotors that come with the spyres.
Anyone advice welcome and perhaps heeded.
