Yeah it's mental.
The first come first sever system doesn't work and BC aren't doing shit about it. -
• #4453
Ha. I always do that. Something stuck in my head from an old spy film or something.
I do think it helps up here though.

What do you mean it gets full before you can sign up? Look at race calendar, pick event, enter it. Do it now, not a week out from the race. It's annoying missing an entry, more annoying than losing the tenner entering something you later can't start.

How doesn't it work? If you want to race, enter fast, enter early, enter often. v sign

Will defo get my arse over to one of the evening TTs are hillingdon but I really like racing in bunch .. such thrill.

I wonder if I could wear one on my wrist while racing and if it would be easier to see than my Garmin 800 on the flat mount? I'd have to wear it on the inside of my wrist I guess. How much did you want for it?
You could wear on inside of the wrist I suppose, but the bulk of the watch might get in the way of the bars, unless you have a weird hand position. You could instead fit a rubber mount direct to the aerobars like so: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/images/2011/10/garmin-forerunner-910xt-in-depth-review-65-thumb.jpg
I could do £65 posted for the unit (inc. QR kit, ANT+ stick and charger), or £75 posted to also include this:
http://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/garmin-aerobar-mount.htm which has had the mount rotated 90deg. -

Races in the SE are selling out in hours. And you don't know when they open a lot of the time.

I'd say you have to check just in case - XT doesn't swap with XTR, the XTR crank spindle isn't long enough for the fatter XT crank arm.

Aren't they all on BC's new fangled site? I thought they had tried to centralise everything?

Does it use the same mount as the Edge GPS units? Ah, yes, according to the second link.
Any idea how much data it can record at 1s intervals?

How can I sign up for updates for specific type of events in a region (London)? Do I need up upgrade to Silver?
-
• #4464
Don't you need Silver membership to race anyway?
-
• #4465
I haz bronze .. never had any issue
-
• #4466
That might be useful if I could have it rotated so it's visible most of the time while I'm on aero bars.
Both my 310 and 910 display power, and the mounts work to keep them the correct way up when on the aero bars... you just need a Forerunner specific mount or Barfly which can cope with both Forerunner and Edge mounts .

If you've got Bronze then you're racing on a provisional license which won't collect any points that you win. Need silver to collect points.
(and what do points mean?)
-
• #4468
yeah I knew that; wasnt expecting any either .. i'll upgrade to silver when this one expires in couple of months .. how do I set up notifications?
-
• #4469
Don't know, sorry. Better to start off with Silver, you'd be well annoyed if you missed out on cat 3 by one point at the end of the year cos you got some points early season but couldn't keep them.

Does it use the same mount as the Edge GPS units? Ah, yes, according to the second link.
Any idea how much data it can record at 1s intervals? It can use the same out-front mount as an Edge, but when mounted it will sit 90deg rotated. So you'll either need to mount it on your wrist, use an official garmin mount on your base bars (and rotate the mount), use a Barfly mount (as @ewanmac says), or bodge an aerobar mount like I've done.
Re: data recording - No idea. It's for slvlss, so assume it can at least handle a whole Ironman event (avg 12+hrs).

Stick your name on the waiting list, have got into every race I've tried so far.

The battery on a 910 lasts longer than an edge. Data wise it's good for at least 24 hours. Logging at the standard 1 second interval. I'm no hippy, so I ran mine for 21 hours continuously not 24.

This new Limits powermeter, currently raising funding - what do people think of the potential Q-factor issue? Is that a thing?
Switch to TT. Are proper road races, not crits, full too?
