  • Black Hammer by Jeff Lemire is coming out on Dark Horse soon, probably worth a look. I'm a fan of his stuff.

  • if anyone sees these going in a joblot i suggest you snap em up.

Jeff Lemire is one of my favorites. Sweet Tooth, Animal Man, Essex County. Plus his Canadian.

  • Yeah one of mine too, he's got a monthly comic out at the moment called Descender. I enjoyed the one issue that has been released so far.

  • Current comics on the go are:

The Names - Peter Milligan & Leandro Fernandez. A corporate styled Enemy Of The State story with sci-fi undertones
Southern Cross - Becky Cloonan & Andy Belanger. A sci-fi mystery but not sure where it's going yet because only issue one.
Invisible Republic - Gabriel Hardman & Corinna Bechko. Sci-fi political thriller

Clearly I seem to be drawn to sci-fi comics at the moment. All good story driven stuff though.

  • What a great idea! Stolen...

  • me too. I can't believe I've been wasting so much money on proper long boxes when there are so many of these lying around in work.

  • You can get 100 comics in each box with covers and boards :)

  • Did anyone read MPH? Mark Millar mini series, was good, only 5 issues and i am sure the movie rights have been bought.

Picked up Chrononauts #1 today, not read it (Having a MM kick at the moment)

I also have a Batman fixation ATM. Going for trade paperbacks of the New 52 stuff.

Scott Snyder is also in the top of my author list.

  • yeah, loved the Court of Owls jazz

  • aye Snyder and Capullo are doing great things with Batman. I'll be really sad when/if their run comes to an end. It doesn't look like it will be any time soon.

  • Maybe Snyder, he was talking about a lot of different upcoming projects he was considering when he was doing panels at the Thoughtbubble Convention last year.

  • he's been doing stuff on the side anyway. He's still doing American Vampire, The Wake (amazing!), Wytches, he's doing a title called A.D with Jeff Lemire which is due out later this year

I think their contract on Batman ends at #50 but I'm sure I've seen them online reassuring fans that they have no intention of leaving the title, but we'll see.

  • TBF, I don't read Batman as it falls under my general rule of "I don't read superhero comics". I'm probably doing myself out of reading some awesome work but then I'm probably also pushing myself into picking up on a lot of other really good stuff that I might otherwise miss out on.

  • American Vampire went in hiatus so he could work on The Wake.

On the other hand he has always said in interviews writing Batman is a childhood dream job for him and has enough ideas for a long time.

Related, the chat between Kevin Smith and him in the podcast "Fatman on Batman" is worth the listen.

  • agreed, as is the Greg Capullo one, and then the one where they return together.

  • high-five to an other Smodcast listener.

  • I'm not much of a Marvel fan but I am really enjoying the artwork in Rocket Raccoon.
