20s behind at 120 laps?
I think she's done.

Over 30s behind now, no coming back from that.

Sounds so damn close. Poor girl looked totally fucked at the end so wasn't holding back.

I wonder if she would've got it if she also rode in Mexico?

Maybe, but probably not if she'd ridden the 'Athlete's Hour' regulations that van Moorsel used to set her 46km record.

She was amazing. Slipped out of her chair when she was sat down. Almost as spent as Andy Wilkinson after 541 for the Mersey Roads 24. There may well be quite a few people on here who may not be able to achieve a flying lap of 28-28.5 mph. Well she did an hour of them!

I sometimes manage it downhill with a fair wind. An hour of it under own steam... Amazing. Apart from the speed, I just find their ability to control the effort and pain for that long astonishing.

I thought hippy hippy must have been you! They need to get some kind of leaderboard up, that comments section is gonna get very busy. How long is the challenge even running?
I reckon I'm just gonna go to the LV track every Wednesday and try and add on meters. My brother is pissed off now, TTs have always been his thing. I reckon we've got a bit of a Boardman v Obree thing on the go this season.

Any advice from the experts for free speed? (Apart from loosing the mudguards of course). -

Don't loose the mudguards, they will rattle and make you even slower.

I'd say 'buy a purpose-built TT bike' but you're already faster than me :)

How to pace an hour record!
-
• #694
Hah nice one - might take you up on that.
The photo's a bit misleading, I swap the pedals for Wednesday night attacks on the record. Added 300m on this week, but my bastard brother got 500m on that so he's ahead just now. Need discs...

Nah, you just need focus. I'm all busted up now so if you want to excel I can totally recommened the "oh shit, if I fail that psycho antipode fucker will kill me" method..

Anywhere I can watch that on a stream?
Storey 0.023s up at 10km, somebody please tell the commentator that the lap number on the screen is the one she's on, not the number completed.
