Tempted to agree with you. Luckily the bike will be mega rad either way so it's no big deal.

Reckon you were about right with wanting summat like the first bike you posted. Like the idea of the logo on the underside of the downtube aswell. What kinda money do they charge for a frame?

Not on a road bike but http://salsacycles.com/bikes/fargo/2015_fargo_3/overview/ has the bit headtube skinny fork adapter thing

Wow, that looks minging.
Think I'll avoid.
(doing it all on aesthetics = doingitright for an internet build)

Okay, think I'm just about there!
This version is assuming a cane creek EC34 (trad) headset, and a -10 thomson road stem (x2). I think this allows the proportions to look a bit more balanced, especially by matching stem angle to top tube angle.
It's also got a fork axle-to-crown of 367, which matches an enve 2.0, and I noticed that using a 45mm rake better replicates the trail from my caad10 (I had forgotten to allow for the effect of external headset cups).
I still need to triple-check measurements against my current bikes (e.g. saddle height [shown as 700mm], and saddle-to bar drop [shown as 58mm]).

I think it needs to be much bigger, because that's what I would do.

That's how these threads work, right..?

Looks good.

I hope that when I get bored of this, you can buy it from me, melt it down, and make it into a headtube.

I am in the middle of a similar process. Having to decide on carbon forks for an all road race, but not wanting 44mm or tapered.
I have just ordered these:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-OEM-700C-Road-bike-3K-UD-12K-full-carbon-fibre-forks-carbon-bicycle-forks-Fixed/32281312271.htmlCrown diameter is ø45mm and should be good with a FSA Orbit MX headset. You will have to live with it being a bit 'batman' though... If it doesn't work out for me I will go with either Columbus Minimal or Enve 2.0, but these are way over my budget right now.
I don not trust the drawings provided by seller, but if they hold true then the forks can take 28c easily... I have redrawn in cad software and scaled it to full scale and implemented them in my layout.
Here is a mock up of it...

I actually wanted these: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Newest-Road-bike-UD-full-carbon-fibre-forks-carbon-bicycle-forks-Track-bike-carbon-front-fork/32246250192.html
But as seller haven't gotten back to me with a drawing upon my request, I dare not to purchase them.

Recommend a non-thomson -10 stem?
How come you want/need a -10°? Doesn't it make more sense to design it so you have access to the most common sizes available?

As per my comment up thread I favour a stem and top tube that are parallel. The combination of -10 stem works best with the overall frame geo I think. It can also be parallel using a -7 stem and a shorter seat tube but I don't like it as much visually.
With this design I technically can still use a -7 stem, it just means the top tube and stem won't be parallel. I am not planning on running the stem fully slammed anyway; the design allows for a small amount of spacers for flexibility changes, so this can also accommodate different stems without altering the overall fit triangle

That looks amazing.
My budget option is Columbus tusk straight. They're affordable, if enve 2.0 is beyond means. However I'm having a steel fork built so its a problem for future cupcakes.

Ta boss.

Anyhow all this has gone to the builder for his input on tubing. We should be going to fabrication soon. Excited.

Woohoo!!!!!!!
I reckon it'll look a bit odd.
I get why people are suggesting a tapered fork, but do you really need it? Also it's not like you're specing a 1" fork. Personally I'd keep it all a bit more traditional.
