@tilover question for ya. Perlon watch strap, is a cheapo ebay one as good as or should I be spending a bit more at a dealer? Cheers.

nah, the cheap eBay ones are virtually identical to the 70's nos ones, the only thing is the inner flap may be a little rough so you can just sandpaper/file the edge to be smooth against your skin. The one from cousins has a thicker gauge weave but that's all.

I had a great birthday present from @36x18 yesterday, a 'Tropic' Strap for my Seiko.

Its so comfortable, I can barely feel it on my wrist.
