  • Simple I know but amused me a little

  • A manual pipe bender no more no less not fully set up for the pipe in view.

  • Hmm, they seem to be very cheap in America and very expensive here

  • does anyone know if there is a schlage lock distributor in london ? i've done all the internet searches and can't find anything ?

  • I'm rather tempted by one of these, particularly as it looks like it would be fairly easy to make it vice-mounted just by bolting it to a big chunkeh section of steel angle. For the money you could get a floor-mounted one twice the size from Home Deeeepoh in the land of the Merkins, but in the UK the Baileigh one looks like a good option.

  • @dicki duffels off the purley way(croydon)

  • I've been wanting a pipe bender for a while, you prompted a google, which threw up this:

Seems identical to the Baileigh for a bit less.

  • It's for bending seatstays, which will be (in the specific case I am thinking of) 4130, and either 14 or 16mm.

I'd like to bend the seat stays into a hoop (a bit more complex than that, but you get the idea) to have a wishbone without the cast wishbone element, if that makes sense.

  • Riding fixed or freewheel?

If fixed I would go plastic as will not put a hole in the top of your vans as quickly.

  • Press fit bottom bracket time.

I would like to replace the FSA BB-AL86 in my Giant TCX SLR2. Unfortunately, because it has a 19mm diameter crankset, the Park Tool BBT90-3 I have won't fit to remove it. I've drifted the bearings out with a screwdriver and some judicious blows with a hammer, but am now struggling to get the rest of the press fit bb out. Does anyone have any recommendations?

A quick google doesn't throw up much, but I was thinking of maybe trying with a headset cup removal tool, assuming it fits. Any other suggestions?

  • My front wheel is squeaking while revolving. The squeak is not from tyre or brakes and certainly seems to be coming from the hub. Wheel is still turning smoothly.
How best to solve the squeak?
    Thanks.

  • Loosen the QR / bolts slightly? This solved my front PlanetX / novatec hub squeak after I got too carried away tightening mine.
Or take apart, clean, re-grease and reassemble.

  • spoke grinding another spoke?

  • Interesting, I'll try taking it off and putting it back on, perhaps it's got just that bit too tight with the cold somehow.

  • Remove hamster.

  • Didn't really sound like this but worth a check. I think the way the wheel is laced this might be unlikely.

  • Ealing, central Ealing, (Broadway),
    or
    will West Ealing be OK?

    Persian Palace,
Very large standard portions of meat,
my son first thought he was grown up when he managed the lamb& chicken plate.

    Me, (non-meat eater),
they do an individual plate/meze of various slops,
including a 'special Persian onion ' based one.
The ayran/drinking yoghurt is home made and almost as good as
Turkish 'yayik ayran' (= almost wild ayran),
just on the edge of fermenting.

Further down, past the traffic lights,
    Lahore Karahi,
    no ambiance,
but (I am told) tasty lamb & chicken to your chosen level of spice/chilli.
The dals and the aubergine dish are well cooked and tasty.

Will make the ayran without milk, just yoghurt & water.

  • Remove hamster.

    ^ wrong mamal.

    Sand/grit on the seals?

  • That be my first though, also could be those cheaper wheel with a massive rubber seal that created friction, lost count of customer complaining of that noise till I put a bit of grease between the hubs and rubber seal.
